When the Dratini had loosened its grip on her, the Skitty bolted out in a lunge, releasing it's claws, and ran... headfirst into a tree.
Dazed, it was all the little Pokemon could do to attempt to get to her feet. And fall back to the ground. It6 kept crying over and over. She didn't appear to even remember that Akina and Cass were there, nor did she have any knowledge of hurting the Dratini.
<Mom!!! Thunder... li-l-lightning... nooooooooo....> the Skitty cried out. She looked around, still dazed and crying out repeatedly. Then she passed out, either from sheer fright or from hitting the tree.

Both Cass and Akina stared at the Skitty as she crashed head first into a tree, blinking. Akina seemed to forget her injuries in those momnets, though she quickly returned to her crying as the pain registered in her mind.
Cass was torn. Comfort her injured Pokemon, or help the knocked out Pokemon? Cass finally decided as she carefully studied Akina's injures, trying to ignore the Sktty's cries for her mother.
Akina's body was scratched and full of cuts, but thankfully it wasn't too bad. She was bleeding a bit, however, so Cass unwrapped her coat from around her waist and carefully wiped the blood away. 'Hopefully it won't stain.' Cass thought to herself absentmindedly.
"You'll be okay, Akina." Cass murmured softly as she held the Pokemon in her arms.
<I was brave.... Wasn't I?> The Dragon type questioned, her eyes gazing into Cass' hopefully.
"You were very, very brave." Cass said, fishing Akina's pokeball out of her bag. "Why don't you rest up a bit, okay?"
Akina nodded as the red light engulfed her, a waery smile on her face. Cass smiled at the Pokeball for a moment before she looked toward the unconcious Skitty, feeling guilty. She carefully scooped the Skitty up, and looked to the clouds. It looked as if it might start to pour any minute.
Cass looked around wildly for some sort of shelter. She REALLY didn't want to back track into town!

The Pokemon was knocked out, so... Akina gains a level!
Luckily, there was a cave nearby. It appeared to be empty, but it was dark inside.
The Skitty shivered slightly in Cass's arms, though still unconcious. She appeared to be having a bad dream of some sort, and she was whimpering quietly. Tears squeezed there way from the cute Pokemon's eye, eyes more accustomed to twinkling with a smile.
What could cause such a change; one moment she was excessively happy and hyper, then when she looked to the sky she suddenly became frightened, wild, and crazy.

Cass cautiously entered the dark cave, her eyes scanning the depths of the cave, searching for any possible danger, From what she could see, there was none, so her attention returned to the unconcious and terrified Skitty in her arms.
She bit her lip as the Skitty whimpered n her sleep and held the Pokemon closer to her in comfort. She then seemed to realize how cold it, for she shivered. Cass put her jacket on and sat down, her back aganst the wall as she tried to warm herself up a bit. She held the Sitty in her arms, and close to her chest, so the Skitty wouldn't get too cold.
"It'll be okay." She whispered, recalling the words her own mother used to whisper in her ears during a storm. "It'll be over soon. There's nothing to be afraid of." Cass mumbled softly as she gently stroked the Sktty's back. [/sub]

True, the cave held no danger. There was not a single Pokemon inside, despite the fact that it proved to be a great shelter from the rain. And it was cold. When the rain started s front moved in, and even now some of the drops of water had turned to hail and slamed down outside.
A tree just out the entrance of the cave was hit by a huge bolt of lightning, and it cracked loudly. It fell, slightly blocking the cave entrance (but not so much that it was impossible to get out) and small flames sprang up on the branches, only to be put out be the rain.
A few flying Pokemon took flight from the area, chirping loudly in fright. Random ground-dwelling Pokemon ran about in a frenzy, each finding its own shelter, but none coming too near the cave. Strange that they didn't go into the safety of the cave...
Meanwhile, the Skitty was stirring. It opened its eyes and looked about dizzily, still dazed from its earlier mishap. <Wha-what happened? Where are we... is it storming?> the Pokemon asked confusedly.
Then she looked at her paws, and noticed a little bit of blood that remained on one of her claws. It was as if she had gotten hit by a truck when the startling realization hit her. She remembered now. How she had went wild and starting tearing at the Dratini, wanting only to get away.
<D-d-did I really... What did I do!?> the Skitty wailed, obviously distressed. Tears filled her eyes for the second time that day, and she looked up at Cass, hoping, wishing, that she had not done what she thought she did. <I am so sorry! I... I didn't know what I was doing> she said, squirming a little at the memory.
The Skitty hears an extremely loud roar of thunder at that moment. She shivers and jumps slightly, but she forced back her fears- her memories and guilt. She did not want to hurt this trainer- she hadn't even wanted to hurt the Dratini. The tears streamed down her face more forcefully now. <I didn't mean to freak out. I just- storms are horrid. They destroy and ruin. They kill. I had a bad experience in a storm...> The Skitty added, but she seemed as if she was holding something back. As if she was not really telling the complete story.
Outside the storm still raged, but the amount of Pokemon scrambling about had lessend considerably. It appeared that most had found shelter already.

Cass watched the entrance to the cave cautiously, shivering as she attempted to keep both herself and the Skitty warm. She glanced outside and watched the wild Pokemon scurry about, searching for shelter from the rain.
Cass forgot the cold, forgot the Skitty, forgot everything for a moment as she watched the Pokemon outside. So the falling tree of course brought her a big shock when it got struck by lightning and fell over.
Cass let out a loud squeak as she jumped, her eyes wide as she eyed the flames. But she calmed a bit as the rain put out the fire. Cass took a deep breathe as she attempted to calm her rapidly beating heart. She held the Skitty closer, a soft sigh escaping from her lips.
Cass' eyes darted toward the Skitty as she stirred. Cass still held the Pokemon, though not as tightly as before.
"It's okay, you're safe." Cass said, a small smile on her face, though it quickly turned to a frown as the Skitty stared at her claws, distressed.
"Shh." Cass mumbled as she softly dragged her hand across the Skitty's back in comfort. "I know you didn't mean too. Akina did something similar just a little while ago. If she can be forgiven, so can you."
Cass smiled at the Skitty. not pressing her to go on any further about her experience. If the Sktty wanted to tell her, she would.

OoC: I forgot in the PM, but bulbasaur (i forgot it's name) learned Leech Seed, Tokala learned Sand-Attack, and Akina learned Thunder Wave. ^^
-----------
The Skitty seemed comforted by Cass's words, but she still felt ashamed. The Skitty looked outside of the cave, her awful memories coming back to her. She wanted to tell Cass, to tell somebody, and perhaps let out all of the sadness and guilt. She wanted to be able to put it behind her.
Despite her sorrow, and the internal conflict she was facing, the Skitty purred with pleasure as Cass stroked her back. It felt so good. It relaxed every muscle in the anxious Pokemon's body.
The Skitty attempted to think up a joke to lighten the mood, but upon finding herself unable to, she laughed and smiled. The laugh and smile were both obviously forced however, and they didn't last more that a second.
Another clap of thunder and flash of lightning outside. The storm wasn't going to end anytime soon.
The Skitty heaved a huge sigh. It was the perfect time to tell her story, if she planned on telling it. After all, they weren't going anywhere for a while.
<A few years ago-four to be exact-I was out on this route with my mother, a beautiful Delcatty. I was just a young kitten then, unable to go out by myself, so my mother ALWAYS took everywhere. I was an only child, and I had never known my father.
Anyway, we had been out for longer than usual and I was getting really tired. We were headed for home when mom noticed the storm clouds. She ushered me to hurry, so that we may get to some sort of shelter. We ran for a little while, unable to find anything at all, then we found a cave. It was large-about the size of this one actually.
Well, we were in there with a bunch of other Pokemon that had sought its shelter. It seemed safe enough. It protected us from the rain and lightning. But then, right outside the mouth of the cave, a huge lightning bolt struck a tree. The tree immediately began to catch on fire, and the rain did little to help it. It fell on the ground-already blazing-and completely blocked the cave entrance.
We were trapped.... smoke was wafting in from the fire, filling the cave, and there was no way any of us could get out without burning to death. I began to cry, the smoke was stinging my eyes and burning my throat. I didn't know what to do...
A few of the Pokemon tried to put out the fire with attacks, but it only made things worse. By this time, the flames had started spreading into the cave, and a couple Pokemon had passed out from the lack of oxygen. I was too low to the ground and I could still breathe, though only barely.
My mom tried her most powerful attack, Blizzard, but it was useless. The ice melted into nothingness beofore it even got near to the fire.
My mother came over to me then, and kissed me on the forehead, whispering in my ear, "I love you." That was the last thing she ever said to me, to anyone. She jumped forward, right into the smaller flames, right up to the main fire on the tree. She used her blizzard, this time freezing it and putting out all the fire.
When the fire was out, she fell to the ground and passed out. She had inhaled a lot of smoke, and her fur was matted with burns and blood. A few of the Pokemon managed to move the tree out of the way enough for everyone to escape, and some of the Pokemon helped to move my mother out.
It had stopped raining, so we were able to lay my mother out on the ground just outside of the cave. A Taillow flew off to the town to get some Potions and Burn Heals, but the items couldn't help my mother. Her injuries were too great. She died four hours later, never regaining conciousness...> The Skitty said, hardly able to get it all out through the lump in her throat.
The Skitty couldn't hold it anymore. She began to cry, no, to bawl. She didn't even care, she cried louder and louder.
A cool gush of wind blew into the cave then. It was no longer lightning outside, but it was still raining, though lightly. Outside the mouth of the cave was a strange looking object, that could very well be the burnt and decayed remains of an old tree. It was only a little closer than the tree that had fallen just a little while earlier.

Cass listened to the Skitty's story, completely silent. She noted the similarities between her story and that moment, but she said nothng. It least the fire had been put out by the rain.
As the Skitty finished her story and she started to bawl, Cass was frozen. Her thoughts went to her own mother, and how devastated she knew she would be when she died.
Cass softly pulled the Skitty nto her arms, gently petting the Pokemon's back as a few tears slipped out of Cass' eyes. She smiled at the Skitty, not bothering to wipe the tears away as she made soft, soothing sounds. --------- OoC - Meh, I don't like it. >_<

OoC: Don't like what...? Sorry; I'm a little slow right now. I forgot where my thoughts were heading when I wrote the last post, so I'll randomize again, hoping that it makes sense and isn't stupid.
-----------
Cass seemed to comfort the Skitty then. The Pokemon's cries faded away into silence and her tears stopped, for the most part.
<Thank you...> the Skitty said quietly. She looked up to Cass and smiled then, this time not fake, but genuine. She nuzzled the trainer gratefully. <I have blamed myself for so long... But, in here, with you, I realize that there was nothing that I could have done.> The Skitty added, sniffling a little.
The rain had stopped now. It hadn't lasted more than twenty minutes, but it was soaking wet outside. The Pokemon were coming out now, and a few of them glanced in the cave, curiously. They looked from the tree to the two who sat inside, whispering amongst themselves.
Another wind blew into the cave, but it was strange. It felt... happy? Yes, happy and grateful. It carried a feeling of comfort on it, and seemed to warm the whole cave.
Right about then, Akina's pokeball glowed a little, hardly noticeable. ANd a whisper, a whisper so light that it could have just been a trick of the ear sounded. Thank you, so very much...
Then the wind swirled around the Skitty, lifting her into the air an inch or two. I truly do love you, with all my heart, it whispered this time. Then, as mysteriously and suddenly as it had come, the wind vanished.
Akina was healed!

Oh, my gawd, I'm so sorry! for not posting or being on! I'm extremely sorry, and I WILL be on more, I swear!!! I'll send you a pm soon that'll explain! ------- Cass said nothing as she smiled softly at the Skitty, petting the Pokemon gently. There was nothing that needed to be said, as all was understood. She reached a hand toward her own face, wiping the few stray tears that were there.
As the wind blew into the cave, Cass closed her eyes, allowing the wind to wash over her as it soothed her to the point where she sighed in contentment. Her eyes widened as she barely heard the voice, but she was not alarmed. She was rather shocked, however, when the Skitty hovered in the air for a moment as the wind seemed to whisper into the Pokemon's ear.
Cass looked outside the cave, registering the fact that the rain had stopped. She said nothing however, and stayed where she was, content.

That's okay. All understood. ^^ Wow... been so long since I wrote anything...
---------------
The Skitty, too, seemed content just to sit there, but the other Pokemon didn't seem to feel the same way. Nor, it seemed, did the others take any notice of the mysterious yet comforting wind.
One, a Sentret, came forward and quietly, almost fearfully, asked the Skitty if she was alright. Then another, a Zigzagoon, snapped back, <Of course she's not okay! This is the sames accursed cave in which her mother died! How can you even have the gull to ask that!?>
Of course, the initial exchanges of the Sentret and Zigzagoon caused a huge row among the other Pokemon, and all of them began to roll about growling and bickering. Obviously, no one was in a good mood after the storm.
All that the commotion did however, was manage to hide an evilly amused laugh from off in the distance. A human laugh. The Skitty managed to catch it, and stood up arching her back, hair standing on end and growling, much like any frightened or angry cat would do. The scowl she wore did not befit the cuteness of the Pokemon.
Oblivious, the other Pokemon continued their row, actaully seeming to be enjoying themselves during the fighting.

Cass tensed as the wild Pokemon neared, cautious. While she had a feeling the Pokemon wouldn't hurt her, she was still apprehensive. She silently watched as the Pokemon began to argue, shaking her head as she sighed. All the wild Pokemon were just crating noise, and it was obvious they weren't really fighting. They were just arguing away the tension, she supposed.
When the Skitty began to hiss and it's body tensed, she froze, her eyes darting around, looking for the source of the supposed danger. It had to be bad for Skitty to act like this. She came up empty handed, however, as all she could hear and see were the fighting Pokemon. She grew frustrated, and opted to asking the Pokemon out right what was going on
"Skitty, what's wrong?" She questioned, her voice a whisper, just in case someone might be watching them. She was still listening, and watching, for what had made the Skitty react so.

Skitty growled for a second longer before turning her head slightly and regarding Cass. <I heard laughing. It came from just over in the trees. Cass, whoever made that laugh didn't sound friendly,> she replied, likewise whispering.
Suddenly a loud roar sounded, coming from the trees where the Skitty had indicated to Cass that the laugh came from. Immediately, Skitty resumed the same posture and hissing that she had been doing when she heard the laughter. All of the Pokemon who were fighting stopped as soon as they heard the noise. They began to look around curiously, searching for the caus of the roar.
Without warning, a bright yellow blast came from the woods and exploded into the gathered Pokemon, leaving them all lying unconcious on the ground. This time the laughter sounded quite loud, and only Cass and the Skitty were left to hear it. A man then walked from the cover of the trees and into plain sight, a Heracross following behind, almost reluctanly. He was wearing a crimson, blood red outfit. He didn't speak just laughed maliciously.

Cass' eyes scanned the trees as she listened to the Skitty, her eyes narrowed as she looked for what the Skitty had heard. She tensed as the roar rang out, and completely froze when a large, bright yellow beam of light barreled into the crowd of Pokemon, knocking each and everyone out. Cass latched onto Skitty protectively, glaring at the trees as a man came forth.
She flinched at his laugh, glaring at the man as she stood, attempting to bring the Skitty up with her. Offhandedly, she wondered why she hadn't noticed the man before, considering the color he was wearing.
"Why did you do that!?" She questioned furiously, glaring at him in hatred. Her gaze drifted to the unconscious Pokemon and she growled, resisting the urge to run up and punch him. "Their just innocent Pokemon!"

OoC: Wait.... Heracross don't roar...
------
"Innocent? Pokemon are simply tools to be used as needed. And right now, I have a need for some of these," he said walking closer and standing near the unconcious Pokemon. "Oh, and you would be wise to keep your nose out of this. I can assure you that this Heracross is much more powerful than any of your worthless Pokemon."
The Heracross, at a signal from the man stood in the cave entrance, prepared to use another Hyper Beam if Cass moved. Meanwhile, the man stooped down and picked up three small, obviously young, Shinx.
Heracross- Level 28
