Will listened as Cass spoke, growing steadily more mortified as she explained the Grim. So, now there was a crime syndacate in the Laokia region... A completely cruel and rutheless team of people looking to satisfy their dastardly desires.
The farmer couldn't think of anything to say, he was to stunned by the information Cass presented to him. Finally, after a couple of minutes he spoke again. "They must be the ones responsible for fencing off that area... no wonder the Professor told us not to go there... I must notify the townsfolk...!" he said, a look of fear crossing his rough features as he thought of the danger that the people of Bernar Town may be in.
Sweat began beading on his forehead as he worried about his friends in the farming town. As he took a handkercheif out of a pocket in the overalls he was wearing, a shiny brown badge glittered in the light of the Flash. He didn't seem to notice, and replaced the handkercheif immediately after whiping his head.
"We had better keep moving," he said, speeding up a little. He hated the thought of the town being attacked while he was away. [/sub]

She hurried after him, not wanting to be left behind
Cass nodded, eyes narrowing slightly at the flash of light. "Uh, Will, what's that badge thing?" she questioned, gesturing toward the thing she had seen give off a sheen of light when Flash had hit it.
She briefly wondered if he was somebody important. The Mayor, perhaps? But she abandoned that thought. She figure it out later.

Will looked confused for a second, but then it seemed to dawn on him what Cass was talking about. He looked a little awkward for a second and let out a laugh. "Oh, it's, um, the badge from the gym in Bernar Town..." he answered a little hesitantly.
The farmer sighed then smiled at Cass. "I guess I shoulda told ye. I'm the Gym leader," he added after a second. He opened his mouth to say something else, but at that moment a Ghastly appeared in front of them, out of nowhere.
<Turn out that light will you!!!!> the Ghost Pokemon yelled, squinting his eyes. <I was sleeping!>

Cass blinked in surprise. Will was the gym leader?! Her mouth opened and closed several times. She had NOT been expecting that! But before she could ask him anything else, a Gastly appeared, and it seemed to be rather annoyed.
Cass bit her lip, studying the Ghost Pokemon. Tokala was out, he was a normal type. Aya didn't know any attacks other than normal type attacks... Cass eyes widened and she grabbed a pokeball from her bag. "Go Akina!"
Akina appeared in a red light, instantly studying her surroundings. Her eyes widened when she realized they were in a dark cave, and she looked to Cass, fear evident.
"It's okay, Akina!" Cass said, smiling encouragingly. "We'll be fine, now..." Cass looked determinedly toward the Gastly, waiting for it to make a move. Maybe it wouldn't attack...

Will looked a tthe angry Ghastly apologetically. "I'm sorry, I can't turn out the light... how would we find our way through this here tunnel?" he asked kindly.
The Ghastly eyed him suspiciously, then eyed the small Dragon-type that appeared. He sighed aggravatedly. <I don't want a battle! I just want some peace and quiet!!> he said angrily.
The Ghost Pokemon eyed all four of them, Will, Cass, Akina, and Flaffy, with a Mean Look. He glared at them one last time before vanishing from sight. Will shook his head, then looked around quickly before walking again.
"We had better keep our eyes open... we may not be able to leave this tunnel now," Will said simply.
Akina Gains a level! [/sub]

Cass shuddered at the Mean Look, and quickly looked to Akina, holding her arm out so the Dragon Type could slither up it. "C'mon Akina..."
Akina quickly secured herself around Cass neck, looking like a bulky pink necklace if she hid her head.
Cass blinked at Will's words, shaking her head. She was leaving this creepy tunnel, one way or the other. She wasn't going to be staying in their any longer than she had too.

Will wore a worried expression, but it was hidden from Cass as he walked just a little ahead of her. He knew Mean Look's effects, and feared that they would not be able to leave the tunnel if that Ghastly did not eiter faint or leave it himself.
But, it wasn't the time to be worrying about thaqt as they had to reach the end of the tunnel first. The Mareep led the way, but it was obvious that he was getting tired. Keeping the Flash up was taxing his energy, making him pant wand weak in the legs.
Will looked at his Electric Pokemon concerenedly. He hoped that Flaffy would be able to keep it up until they reached the end of the tunnel. He knew that it wasn't far off now. [/sub]

Cass eyed the Mareep leading the way worriedly. It was obvious the poor thing was tiring. Hopefully it could hold out until they got out of the tunnel....
Cass thoughtd returned to the Grim member Donnie, and she seemed to realize something. If one member was there, there would probably be more! She cast a fearful look off into the darkness, hoping she was wrong. It would be just her luck if there were several more wandering around in here, searching for her.
Cass peered into the darkness, beyond the points of light given off by Flash. Hopefully the exit was nearby.

From a pinpoint of light in the distance that did not come from the Flash, the still starry sky could be seen. It was still night, but the sky was beginning to lighten. It had to be about three in the morning or so.
It was amazing the amount of time Cass and Will had spent in the cave. Surely it couldn't have seemed that long.
It took a few more minutes, but finally Will reached the exit, just barely ahead of Cass. He stopped and didn't step outside. He wasn't worried about there being any more Grim members. He had been looking around and had not seen any other sources of light, and surely the evil Grim members wouldn't be stupid enough to wander around in the pitch black darkness.
The light given off by the Mareep fluttered and then died, the exhausted Pokemon collapsing to the ground. Will reached to his belt, and sighed once he remembered that he did not have the sheep's pokeball with him.
"Well, let's see if we can get out..." he said. Will stepped forward, sticking his arm out o the entrance. At first everything seemed alright, then the gym leader retracted his arm with a wince. He cradled it close to him, rubbing it frantically.
"I s'pose that we have ter find that there Ghastly..." he said with another sigh. Luckily, they didn't have to go anywhere because the Pokemon came out of a nearby wall after hearing the farmer's words.
<Hehe! That will teach you annoying people to wake me up!> he said mischeviously. It was clear that he was still angry at them.
"Cass, Flaffy is the only Pokemon I have with me... and she can't fight in this condition... I'm sorry, but I think that you are going to have to defeat the Ghastly," he said, confident that Cass was quite capable of handling the grumpy Pokemon. [/sub]

Cass sighed in relief as she saw the light up ahead. They were finally going to get out of here! She grinned at what she could see of the sky, blinking in surprise when she noticed the time. She hadn't realized she'd been in the tunnel so long.
As she stood in front of the entrance, Cass was about to walk through it but paused as Will stood near it instead of walking through. She was about to ask why he had stopped when Mareep ran out of energy and the light from the Flash died.
Cass, wanting to leave, was rather confused when Will reached a hand out and recoiled it as if burned. It was then that Cass remembered Mean Look's effect.
"You stupid, Gastly, I want outta here!" Cass grumbled, glaring at the Ghost Pokemon. So close... Cass brought a hand to her neck, gently prodding the Dragon Type around her neck. Akina had fallen asleep a little while ago.
Akina blearily raised her head, yawning as she gazed sleepily up at Cass. <What is it?>
All Cass had to do was point at the Gastly and Akina suddenly woke up. She slithered down Cass' arm and was quickly deposited on the ground.
"Okay, Akina! We gotta defeat this guy to get out! So, go! Use Thunder Wave!" Cass said, glaring at the Gastly.
Akina quickly complied, charging electricity for a few moments before targeting it toward the Gastly.

"Haha. It's just you and me. The old man can't help you now!" Gastly gave a devious cackle, but was easily struck with the electric spark. But he seemed to be unaffected, unfortunately, he knew not of Thunder Wave's mannerism, to take affect a little while after being used. Grinning madly he dove in after Akina with his tongue hanging out of his mouth viciously. Obviously the gassy pokemon was heading in for a lick attack. [ sorry, that was totally half-assed. =C]

Akina yelped as the Gastly licked her. She shuddered, and waved her head around, squealing. <Ewww!>
Cass eyes widened at Akina's reaction. Apparently she didn't like to be licked... "Akina, shake it off! Use Twister!" The thought that the attack might be dangerous in an enclosed space didn't seem to register in Cass' head.
Akina didn't hesitate as she normally would, probably because she was a little annoyed at the Gastly. She began to twist, a wind picking up as she went faster and faster.

Will watched the battle interestedly, paying more attention to Cass and Akina rather than the Ghastly. He smiled. Yes, he liked what he saw in the young trainer. Her drive, her determination. It shown as brightly as did her love for her Pokemon. Maybe he would be the one who was going to get a run for his money.
When Will heard Cass order the Dratini to use Twister, he quickly gathered up his Miltank. He carried it as easily as if it only weighed a few pounds, and he walked with it out of the way of the battle.
The Ghastly, over-confident after the apparent unaffectiveness of the Thunder Wave, did not even try to dodge the attack. He regretted that as soon as the dragon winds hit him, tearing at his skin and causing waves of agony to course through him.
<Dang you!> he yelled angrily. He started to come in for another Lick, but the earlier attack was finally taking effect. He groaned when he realized that he could not move because of the Paralysis, just now remembering Thunder Wave's effect. [/sub]

Cass smirked at the Gastly's distress. The Thunder Wave was beginning to effect him. "Alright, Akina!" Cass cheered, pumping her fist. She smiled proudly at the Shiny Dratini as he clothing flapped in the wind, holding her hair our of her face.
Akina smiled to herself, happy that she was winning and Cass was proud of her. She began spinning faster, her winds beginning to draw in small pebbles and such.
Cass grinned as the wind picked up. The sooner thye finished off the Gastly, the sooner they could leave the tunnel. "Yeah, go! Faster, faster!"

The Ghastly cried out as he continued to be assaulted by the Twister, unable to move out of the attack's path. He could feel the damage adding up, continuing to pain him.
In a coupl of minuted of the onslaught, the Ghastly found that he was beginning to get back his movement. He had enough of it back to use an attack. <Ha! You won't defeat me that easily, worm!> he taunted.
He closed his eyes, concentrating. Darkness seemed to radiate from him, darkness more deep that even the cave. He was using Night Shade. [/sub]
