The Budew flinched a litle at the sight of the bird Pokemon, but she still didn't run away. After a moment's shivering she finally spoke up. <Yes, alright,> she answered in a slightly submissive, yet strong voice.
The smaller Pokemon assumed a battle stance and faced the Pidgey. Only a few small shivers belied how scared she was to be battling a flying type. But, it wasn't like it would be the first time.
She decided to try to cover up her shivering and fright by using Growth. She grew, larger and larger. She was now about a full couple of feet taller than the Pidgey and she looked menacing indeed. It really was a huge change from her old trembling small form. [/sub]

Beau could see the fear radiate from the Budew, feeling comfortted by the wild Pokemon's intimidation. It made him feel strong and dominant in the battle, even though the spar had just begun.
That powerful feeling vanished as the Budew grew in size. Beau swallowed hard as it became much larger than himself, and now he felt like the one who was scared.
" So that Pokemon grew in size. So what? Use Tackle! "
Jace spoke, obviously unamused by the Bydew's attack. Size didn't really matter, now did it? The only thing Beau had to worry about was that the Budew special attack stat was increased a bit.
The Pidgey choked down his fear and faced the Budew with forced confidence. Well, not being afraid was easier said than done. Even though Jace tried to comfort him, Beau couldn't help but still feel a bit nervous.
Taking flight, Beau flew above the Budew and the trees, soaring until Jace and the wild Pokemon were small specks on the ground. Grinning a bit, the Pidgey sped downward, pressing his wings against his sides as he flew down in a Tackle attack.

The Budew glance up towards the swiftly descending Pidgey, not even attempting to dodge, knowing full well that he wouldn't be quick enough to get out of the way. The Tackle attack struck with such force that it brought tears to the Grass-type's eyes, tears which she choked down quickly.
The Budew hurriedly used an absorb, the green bubble-like things rushing at the nearby Pidgey. [/sub]

Beau seemed quite pleased with himself when his Tackle nailed the Budew. He couldn't enjoy that for long, as the grass Pokemon started to use Absorb on him. The tiny green bubbles attatched themselves to his body, then began to drain energy from him. Beau shrieked a bit, but he was lucky, considering his Flying type helped him resist the Grass attack.
" Sand-Attack this time, Beau! "
Spoke Jace, mildly thankful that the Pidgey could resist that Absorb attack. If he had no resistance, then that attack probably would've been a whole lot more painful...
Beau landed on the ground, brushing away the few remaining bubbles on his chest before turning to the Budew. He got over the fact that the wild Pokemon was now bigger than him. Kicking up a bit of sand, the Pidgey aimed a Sand-Attack at the Budew's eyes to hurt its accuracy.

OoC: Sorry for the shortness, pressed for time, and drawing a blank.. o.O
----
The Budew cried out as the sand hit her eyes, momentarily blinding her. He struggled, trying to shake it of of his face, but it was no use. He let fly another Absorb, it going wildly about, to the left of Beau.
The air was still cooler than it had been, and the sun shifted behind the clouds. [/sub]

Beau felt the Absorb bubbles leech on to his body again, having more energy get drained out of him. Even though the attack wasn't all that powerful, it was quite a nuisance! The Pidgey didn't like the fact that the Budew was getting his energy too!
" Now, Tackle it again! "
Jace instructed, then looked up to the sky. Wow, a whole day went by already? After this battle he'd probably decide to crash under a tree. Boy, was he getting tired.
The Pidgey flapped his wings and returned to the sky, beginning to squawk out of anger. He had had enough of this Budew! Diving down fast, Beau targeted the Budew's head, showing no mercy when it came to this Tackle.

The Budew grinned when her wildly thrown attack hit the Pidgey. Most of the sand fell from her eyes, so she ould see when Beau flew at her. She squeeled and moved backwards, but not fast enough.
The Tackle hit her, and hard. She flew backwards, landing on her back. A critical hit! She managed to get to her feet, a bit dazed. She barely realized that her Growth had worn off.
Still a little dizzy, and still unable to see that well, the Budew used her Growth attack again, growing larger and larger, but when she stopped growing she was only slightly bigger than Beau. Another couple hits by that Tackle and she would be out. [/sub]

The Pidgey noticed that the Budew had been reduced to its normal size, and felt a little relieved. Beau chirped when the little Pokemon fell on its back from his Tackle. He began to do a bit of acrobatics in the air, showing off his happiness. Ah, he was so glad his mother let him go with this guy!
" Alright, get back to the battle, Beau. Tackle! "
Jace told the Pidgey, letting the bird enjoy his success for a bit before he got serious again. Although, while Beau was celebrating, that Budew had used Growth again.
Seeing the foe become a bit bigger than him again, Beau began to hide his enjoyment. Right, the battle wasn't over yet. With a bit less effort, the Pidgey sped at the Budew in a Tackle again. He was starting to grow weak himself...

The Budew was slowing, that was very noticeable. She hadn't even managed to move a step to the side before the Tackle hit her. Maybe being larger wasn't such a great thing afterall.
She sucked up the blow, only a few tears betraying how much it had really hurt. The Grass-type let out another absorb, but only a few bubbles leaked out at the Pidgey. She momentarily considered running away, before the Pidgey knocked her out, but she shook that thought away.
She had made her decision when she stayed put at the beginning, she wasn't about to run now. For the first time in her life, she was going to stay and fight, however much she hated it. [/sub]

" This Pidgey is a lot better than I thought... "
Jace thought to himself as the battle raged on. Well, it was either the Pidgey was strong or the Budew was weak. That didn't really matter though - the male was quite pleased with his Pidgey.
" Good work, keep it up. "
Was all Jace said to Beau, confident that his Pidgey knew what he was doing. Besides, this battle appeared to almost be over anyways.
Beau was attacked by the Absorb bubbles, but noticed there weren't as many trying to raid him of his life. Shaking free from them after they stole a bit of health, the Pidgey circled close to the Budew. Yea, he felt a bit bad for picking on the innocent Pokemon, but that was the way of battling. Panting a little bit, Beau turned sharply and tried another Tackle.

This time the Budew didn't move, but merely closed her eyes and waited for the blow to fall. It did, and she didn't have a chance to utter a sound before falling to the Earth, clearly unconcious.
The moon was up in the sky now, but so was the sun. The sun was sinking behind the trees slowly, lighting the sky in an array of brilliant colors. Oranges, reds, pinks, purples, and even blues painted the sky, casting an odd glow onto the ground and trees around the Route.
Ahead of Jace the exit of the Rute was visible, highlited by the colorful light. The way to Route Two was clear.
Beau gains a level! Uh, If he's level 5 now, then he also learns Sand-Attack!

Beau tweeted as the Budew fainted, circling down and landing on Jace's head. He yawned and almost instantly fell asleep, tuckered out from the battle against the Budew. Jace smiled a bit, then grabbed the Pidgey's Pokeball. Beau was sent back into the device to rest, which was well-earned.
Looking back up to the sky, Jace was amazed by the brilliant colours that it was painted in. He could also see the exit to this Route in clear view. He debated whether to rest here or carry on, since it was starting to get late, after all. He decided to move on, not quite feeling tired enough to stop travelling. Besides, maybe he'd find more interesting wildlife in the nighttime.
With that, Jace placed Beau's Pokeball on his beat, and headed for the exit. Well, now he was on his way through the next Route...
