Growli walked out of the Pokemon Center, her Growlithe, Gardir, following close behind. She breathed in deeply, sucking in the clean air. This would be fun.
'Maybe people are more tolerable of Poke'morphs in this region," she thought to herself. She bent down and stroked Gardir for a moment then straightened again.
<So, what are we going to do?> Gardir asked curiously. He sniffed at the ground and started to go around smeeling as he went.
"I don't know. Maybe we can find a trainer to battle?" Growli said, or rather, asked. She allowed her Growlithe to sniff around, following him. [/sub]

As the pair got close to a house, a young boy walked out of the shadows.
"Hi! Wanna battle me?" he asked exuberantly, standing right in font of the Growlithe. Then h seemed to notice Growli's being a Poke'morph. "Oh! You look like a Growlithe!! Can I pet your tail!?" he asked in awe. He was only about eight years old.
"Oh, my bad. My name's Kenny," he added blushing a little. [/sub]

Gardir jumped when the boy stepped from the shadows. He stared at the boy for a moment, then looked questioning to Growli, wondering what he should do.
"Umm... My name's Growli. And, I guess that you can pet my tail...," Growli replied a little awkwardly. However, she was actually kinda pleased. She didn't mind being petted, and she liked the attention.
Growli smiled at the young trainer. "Sure, I'll battle you!" she added to his first question. [/sub]

The boy eagerly went over and ran his hand over the 'morph's tail. "It is so soft! You have a beautiful tail!!" he complimented happily. Then he backed of and put on a slightly more serious air.
He grabbed a pokeball from a pocket and enlarged it. "Come on out!" he said. He was answered by a flash of red light and a Cricketot stood inm front of him, facing Growli. "So, what Pokemon will you use? One on one batle!" he asked. [/sub]

Growli blushed but didn't say anything. She WAS proud of her tail and to hear someone else praise it made her happy indeed. She smiled broadly and coughed away the blush.
Growli thought for a moment, staring at the Cricketot in front of her. "I know! Go Achama!" she yelled, throwing a pokeball onto the battlefield. A shiny torchic popped out, standing in front if the opponent. "Use Peck attack!" she orderd. Achama let out a loud chirp and charged foprward for a Peck. [/sub]

Kenny barely had time to stare at the Torchic, in continued awe, before the Pokemon ran at his Cricketot, her beak leading the way.
The Peck connected with the Cricketot, causing him to fly up into the air and land a few feet away. The attack had done massive damage to the Bug-type, being a Flying-type attack. Somehow, the Pokemon managed to ooget to his feet, and stood facing Achama, a bit defensively.
The boy bit his lip. This would be a tough battle, but types weren't everything. "Kricketot, use Growl, and follow up with a Bide!" Kenny commanded, knowing that it would be a good idea to lower the Torchic's attack.
The Kricketot obeyed, an egan by unleashin a loud Growling sound that echoed off of the nearby buildings. Then, the Pokemon's entire body began to glow red, storing energy that he would later unbleash.

Both Achama and Growli covered their ears at the loud growl. It had affected both of them, unnerving the 'Morph and lowering the attack of the Torchic.
Growli noted the Bide attack, and knew full well what the attack could do. However, she hoped to be able to knock the Cricketot out before it ever unleashed the attack. "Quick, Achama, use another Peck!" the Growlith Poke'Morph commanded, her tail stiff with worry. What if her plan didn't work...
The Torchic obeyed. She, unlike Growli, had no idea what Bide did, so she rushed in, amazed that the Cricketot hadn't done anything more than lower her attack. She charged at the Bug-type, her beak leading the way once more, confidence flowing through her. [/sub]

The Peck struck the Kricketot's chest, knocking the Pokemon over on its back. Even though the Growl had lowered the shiny Torchic's attack strength, that didn't stop the Peck attacking from being very effective.
Kenny watched the battle determinedly, feeling sweat creep up on his clutched hands. This was a matter of if his Pokemon was able to release the Bide attack in time. If it could, then this battle was his, but if that Torchic could defeat his Pokemon first, then he would definitely have to do some more training...
So, the Kricketot stood back up, staring at Achama through squinted eyes. The Pokemon could only wait now, absorbing strength until it came time to release it. However, would it be able to survive in time to attack?
