After leaving the old lady she walked off down the street, a happy look across her face even though she had lost. Not much was going on in the town, as it was about noon and families were resting up inside of their homes. Every once in a while a shout or laughter could be heard from inside one of the building, but otherwise it was really quiet. Strolling around, seeming to be basking in the sunlight, was a Snubbull. He walked right in front of James, only noticing him because his shadow blocked out the sunlight. <Eh? 'Ello there... You wanna battle?> he asked in a gruff voice. <If you don't you can just leave, I could care less. The entrance to Route One is right over there,> he added, pointing to two trees which grew close together. He shrugged a little as he looked up into James's face. Opponent:Snubbull- Lv. 3

James enjoyed the near silence of the area, not really liking to be around people all that much. It wasn't that he hated all people in general, it was just that he was anti-social. The people he thought were his friends back at home often backstabbed him, so he just preferred to avoid making friends.
James nearly tripped over the Snubbull, only realizing it was standing in front of him when it spoke up. Taima studied the pink Pokemon for a few moments, once again satisfying her curiousity.
" A battle? Sure, I'll give Ayers a shot at this. "
The male agreed, pulling the Piplup's Pokeball from his belt. Dropping it on the ground, a little penguin Pokemon emerged on the ground, looking as if he just woke up. He rubbed his eyes, then shot a grumpy gaze at the Snubbull, thinking it was the pne that disturbed his sleep!

The Snubbull didn't seem to care that he had nearly been run over, He was a very laid-back Pokemon. He shrugged when James accepter, though in fact he was pleased. When Ayers the Piplup emerged, the casual Pokemon jumped back a couple of feet.
The Water-type did not look too happy, and he deemed it a bad idea to stand in so close of range. After looking the Pokemon over for a moment he shrugged again and smiled. <Okay than, you make the first move,> he said.

James sweatdropped at the Piplup's appearent anger, remembering that Ayers had a temper - possibly worse than his own. Oh well, maybe that would provoke the Piplup tp fight harder.
" Alright, go use a Pound. "
James said simply, tightening his face when Ayers turned out and started to scowl at him. Oh c'mon! It was one simple attack! Why did he have to get attitude from his Pokemon?!
Grumbling, the male picked up his Piplup, then placed him before the Snubbull. Of course, Ayers slapped and pecked at his trainer's hand, but James held all his rage in until he let go of the Pokemon. As he returned to where he was standing before, he was mumbling sharply under his breath and holding his now sore hand.
Ayers glared at the Snubbull, then quickly tried to Pound the Pokemon's face. Well, now that James was out of reach, he would just have to pick on this pink Pokemon before it!

The Snubbull watched interestedly at the rage of the small Piplup. He even raised is eyebrows that the Pokemon even attacked his trainer. He just remained standing there, hands behing his head, and waited while James moved the angry Pokemon over to him.
The Piplup's Pound hit the Snubbull hard, and he managed a grunt. But with the penguin Pokemon being so close, he knew which attack to use. He bit at Ayers, electricity circling around his teeth. He was using Thunder Fang.

Whoa! That was uncalled for! James was blown away when the Snubbull produced an electric attack like that. Taima couldn't understand this either, so she began to growl at the pink Pokemon. That thing was quite dangerous, especially to a Water Pokemon like Ayers.
The Piplup wailed when the electricity shocked his body and the fangs dug into his skin. Ayers flapped his tiny arms in pain and tears leaked from his eyes. Once he got a grip of himself, he didn't look upset anymore. The attack fueled more rage within him, and he handed out another thoughtless Pound on the Snubbull.
" Whoa, chill, Ayers. "
James suggested, but his words never reached the Piplup's head. That Pokemon's only intentions now were to get revenge on that Snubbull for being so cruel!

The Snubbull took the second Pound as well, bruises appearing on his pink body. He winced and this time let out a loud grunt from the pain. He shook it off and opened up his mouth for another attack.
Should he use Thunder Fang again, or something else? Deciding to keep it fresh, the Snubbull bared his fangs and came at the Piplup again. This time his teeth were freezing col, and covered in sharp shards of ice. This time he was going for an Ice Fang.

Ayers seemed pretty satisfied to see bruises start appearing on the Snubbull's body. He clapped his paws together a few times, showing how pleased he was with himself. Of course, being occupied with happiness took away the Piplup's attention on the battle. He screamed as the cold and icy fangs were driven into him.
" Dude! This Snubbull is pretty awesome! Pound again! "
James exclaimed, blown away with the Pokemon's variety of attacks. This Snubbull was a must catch! It would be good to have a Pokemon with that kind of attack diversity on his team. He quietly readied an empty Pokeball in his hand, waiting for the perfect moment to throw it.
Tears streamed down Ayers' face, showing that the Ice Fang hurt despite the type resistance. Wiping away some tears, the Piplup began to run up to the Snubbull, swinging his arms wildly. Indeed, he had no control over what he was doing now - the anger sank through his head too much. Now he was trying some sort of Pound attack, putting no thought into it at all.

The Snubbull's face remained calm even though the Piplup's attack again hit. He could tell that the Pokemon was being driven more by rage than any real desire to battle. He felt a little sorry for the Water-type. Being so angry wasn't good.
He shrugged it off and winced as he took a step forward. He was getting tired. If that Piplup kept it up, he wouldn't be able to get to his feet. Still in the interest of switching it up, and in no real hurry. He rushed at Ayers, flames visible around his lips. This time he was using Fire Fang.

James watched the battle go on, with a bit of fear towards Ayers. if that Pokemon was so mean and violent now, what would happen when the Piplup evolved into his final stage? James could just picture himself and his future team of Pokemon getting bullied by Ayers.
Meanwhile, the little Piplup had gotten a taste of every kind of fang attack now. One paw felt mildly cold, his back felt a little tingly, and now his other paw was a bit charred. That was the perfect concoction for disaster. Ayers screamed at the Snubbull, once again going into another Pounding fit.
All James could do was watch from the sidelines. He still held that Pokeball in his hand, knowing that he would have to rescue that Snubbull from Ayers' ' wrath ' soon...

The Pound again hit the Snubbull, but this time he managed to get away before the attack did too much damage. His breathing was now heavy and he knew that unless there was some miracle he would not win this battle.
He knew that he should use Thunder Fang again, because it would do the most damage against the Water-Type, yet he did not want to get that close to the enraged Pokemon again. He stood far back, keeping his eyes on the Piplup while he thought about what to do.
Finally, the Normal-type seemed to come to a decision. He wouldn't get close to Ayers, but rather would stay as far away as possible. He glared at the Piplup, using has Scary Face attack.

Staring at the Snubbull right when it used Scary Face, Ayers' rage was put to a stop and replaced with a terried expression. The Piplup screamed and placed his paws over his eyes, avoiding the Scary Face. However, it was too late, because the Pokemon had become a lot slower.
" Eh, I think it's about time that I use this thing... "
James decided as he took a glance down at the Pokeball gripped in his hand. It appeared that Ayers was too scared to make another move, and the Snubbull looked pretty weak now.
The male tossed it in the Snubbull's direction, watching as the device spun as it headed for the wild Pokeball. Well, all he could do was wait now. The capture of the Snubbull was in that Pokeball's fate.

The ball flew through the air, spinning and accelerating, before finally striking the Snubbull with a force that knocked him back on his heels. The bright red light enveloped the Normal-type, drawing him into the Pokeball. The ball fell to the ground with a thump and began to shake back and forth. Once... twice... three times... Ding! The pokeball closed on the Snubbull tightly, succesfully capturing him.
