Laura tried to jump away, knowing that the Fire-type would likely try the effective strategy again. But, it was too late, she was too slowed by her injuries. The sharp claws raked upwards, getting at both the vulnerable flesh of her underbelly and that of her head. She felt the pain shoot across her, and somehow it hurt worse this time.
Yamchi's attack had hit, and hit hard. It hit both her soft spots, multiplying the damage to the Squirtle. It was a critical hit.
Laura reeled back, clutching at her underbelly with one hand, and her head with the other. She staggered, trying with all of her will power to remain standing, to remain concious. Deep down she knew that it was no use, that the Charmander had one. She fainted before she hit the ground.
Holly gasped and ran towards Laura, picking her up gently into her arms. "Oh, Laura, you did so well. I'll take you to Nurse Joy," she said softly. Grabbing the tiny turtle Pokemon's pokeball, she enlarged it then returned her with a bright flash of red light.
Holly stood up and faced Aeron, a smile on her face despite the loss. "That was an awesome battle, you really were great for your first time!" she said with a laugh. Replacing her Squirtle's ball on her belt, she said, "I guess that I will go to the Pokemon Center now. Bye! And thanks for the battle!"
With that, Holly offered a final smile and a cheerful wave, then jogged off in the direction of the Pokemon Center.

Aeron smiled as the attack hit, the strategy had worked but only barely. Yamchi had taken wuite the beating for a Charmander indeed, stubborn little fool. As the scratch had made impact Yamchi had done all he could to see it through and stay on his feet, watching the Squirtle's reaction. The hit had been very effective and he could tell it hurt by the way she grabbed at her face and belly, <Yes! Direct hit!> He felt like jumping for joy but once he knew the Squirtle fainted Yamchi tumbled backwards and lay on the ground, not fainted but extremely tired.
Aeron ran up to him and took the pokemon's pokeball out, returning the shiny Charmander to its pokeball and smiling up at the girl, "Yeah it was an awesome battle, you almost had me. At the girl's comment about the Pokecenter he thought it wise to take Charmander there and leave as well, so he took off following the girl andheading to the Pokecenter, he'd try to avoid her. He didn't want to feel like a stalker or anything, right? Once there he walked up to where the nurse was, "Umm I'd like to heal my Charmander please." [/sub]

Yamchi also earns Ember!!!
Holly, who had reached the counter and given Laura's pokeball to Nurse Joy only a moment before Aeron walked in, turned to face him, surprised. "Oh, I should have guessed that you would be coming to heal your Charmander as well," she said cheerfully.
Holly did not seem at all depressed by her loss, or even unyhappy at Aeron's unexpected re-appearance. Actuall, she looked quite pleased, a broad grin on her face. She stood waiting as Nurse Joy answered him.
"Yes, just hand me his pokeball, and I will return him to full health," she said, very cliche like. A book sat on the counter beside Joy, the bookmark looking as though it had only been put in a second earlier. Nurse Joy's beaming smile was, if possible, brighter and broader that Holly's. "I'm assuming that you two just had a battle?" she asked kindly.

Aeron smiled at the Nurse Joy, "Sure thing, here ya go mam." The trainer handed over the pokeball and nodded, "Yeah, we had an awesome battle." He smiled and looked at Holly, approaching her, "Nice battle, so you from around here or getting badges too?" His eyes seemed to dart around but then they focused on her as he waited for his Charmander.

Nurse Joy beamed at Aeron's politeness. She too knodded and took the pokeball gently and carefully placed it in a slot in a machine. The machine began to whirr and light up. "It may take a few minutes to finish..." she apologized.
Holy smiled brightly, waiting for her Squirtle to get healed as well. "Well, I live here. Actually, that was my house that I came out of earlier. But, I have been wanting to travel around the region and collect badges for a little while now. I just haven't gotten around to it yet..." she replied happily.

Aeron smiled and nodded at the friendly nurse, "Sure take your time Nurse Joy." He hoped his charmander would be okay, the poor thing was really exhausted from the battle. His blue orbs looked over the machine as it whirred and did its thing, the lights seeming to entrance him slightly.
As the girl spoke he nodded and looked right back at her, "Really? I guess that would explain why you were in that house. Why haven't you gone off yet? Have you been busy or something? Or waiting for the right time?" HE looked at her, his head turned to the side indicating his curiosity.

" My parents don't want me to leave yet. They say it's really dangerous out there sometimes... "
Holly replied simply, sounding slightly disappointed. She thought Aeron was lucky, being able to go out on a Pokemon journey. She wished her parents would let her have a little bit of freedom, so she could follow the same kind of dream that Aeron had.
" I battle local trainers to try and prove to my parents that I'm strong enough to go out there, but I keep losing... "
She added, with a sigh. Maybe her parents were right. Maybe she should just stay here, where's it's safe. Or at least until her Squirtle became stronger.
" Your Pokemon have been healed. "
Nurse Joy spoke up, holding Yamchi's Pokeball before Aeron, and giving Holly Laura's Pokeball. Holly took her Pokemon Pokeball, and smiled thankfully.

Aeron nodded as the girl spoke, feeling bad for her as her parent didn't allow her to leave on her own quest yet. How very sad, his parents had fortunately allowed him to go off thinking that since he was exposed to pokemon at such a young age he could handle it. That was the good thing of having parents that were breeders, you were exposed to pokemon from the beginning, he was especially close to the family Arcanine which might help explain his like of fire pokemon, "Aww I'm sorry to hear that, one day you'll be able to head out as well. Just keep at it, I'm sure you'll make it."
Once Nurse Joy spoke he turned and bowedf to her, taking the pokeball back, "Thank you Nurse Joy." He turned to Holly, "Well I wish you luck Holly. I'll see you some other time." He gave her a quick hug and ran out the door, heading towards Route One, hoping that he wouldn't encounter any other incidents until he got there. [/sub]

In fact, there were so many people outside by the time Aeron had left the Pokemon Center, that it would be hard to believe that just a little earlier it was pretty much deserted. No one seemed to notice the trainer, and those that did simply smiled and waved.
There were a few small shops around, one an ice cream shop with a lot of people converging in and out of it. There was a back alley, and a sign in front of it said 'Shortcut to Route One!'. There wern't any people walking around there, but there was a shadow by the wall of a building.
It was too small to be a human. It looked somewhat like a Zigzagoon, but it was too dark to tell easily.

The young trainer smiled back and waved at the people who did the same to him, one day they'd know who he was. He'd be a well known trainer one day or a world class breeder, he wasn't sure which though. Seeing the short cut he weaved his way through the people and headed into the alley, sure it looked suspicious but he'd cut through anyways. The shadow hadn't caught the boy's eyes and as a result he tripped over it, "Wha-!" He hit the ground with a thud and looked back to see what he had tripped over.

In fact, the thing that Aeron tripped over WAS a Zigzagoon. But, it was different. It was not the normal colors of cream and brown, but it was black and red... It growled at Aeron viciously, her teeth bared.
The Normal-type's eyes did not shine with the light that they normally would have, but hey were cold and dark, more like a shark's. She leaped at the trainer maliiously, wildly. Then, she leapt at him, her glistening fangs shining and claws outstreached.

The trainer looked up to see the strange pokemon, what happened to it? Had it been mistreated by a trainer somehow or something? Its odd colors had caught the trainer of guard, the deep red and jet black of its fur led him to believe that it might not even be what it appeared to be which was a Zigzagoon. It was odd indeed but the next he noticed was its aggrssiveness, the teeth baring scared him and he lay immobile up until the pokemon lunged at him. As the normal type attacked he rolled out of the way and threw his pokeball, releasing his charmander.
"Yamchi! Help!" The fire type saw the rather malicious Zigzagoon and went serious, not liking how it attacked Aeron one bit. Without listening to any orders that Aeron could have given the Charmander decided to use an ember himself. He focused and used a strong ember, sending the fire attack straight at the Zigzagoon. Good thing Aeron had taken him to the Pokecenter or this battle might have been lopsided but luckily Yamchi was in tip top shape and ready for another battle. Aeron got up quickly and looked at his Charmander, "Let's do this Yamchi!" The fire type looked serious, actually rather upset, "You bet Aeron! He can't try to hurt my trainer like that and get away! Come on! Bring Zigzagoon!" Yamchi and Aeron bothed assumed postions as they waited for the weird pokemon's response.

The blaxk and red Pokemon did not seem to understand anything that Aeron or Yamchi said. All it seemed to notice was that he now had new prey. He hardly seemed to care as the Ember burnt his face, though it was obvious that the Fire attack had done a lot of damage to the Zigzagoon.
The wild Pokemon rushed at the Fire-type, with a ferociousnesss more akin to a wild beast or monster, not a Pokemon. He was going in for a Tackle.
The Pokemon did not seem to notice or care about his surroundings. The only thought on his mind was to tear apart his two opponents.

Aeron knew the Ember had to take a toll since it even looked a bit stronger then usual but how did the Zigzagoon manage to take such a hit like that? Something was very wrong about this pokemon and it seemed to catch his attention now that itt attacked so wildly. Noting how it charged at Yamchi again Aeron knew there was no way to dodge it and he wanted to end this battle as quickly as possible and get moving to Route One, "Yamchi brace yourself! Then use an ember!"
The orange lizard Pokemon braced itself and took the impact of the hit, it sure hurt due to the black and red Pokemon's ferociusness and savageness. However, Yamchi took the hit and as he fell to the ground he managed to shoot another Ember at the Zigzagoon, aiming for its face once more. After getting the shot off Yamchi impact the ground and got up looking at Aeron and the normal type as he waited for another command. [/sub]

The Zigzagoon never let on about the searing pain that scorched over his face. Rather, he let out a roar, and let his fur bristle. His eyes seemed to be glowing bright red, his actions seemed to be fueled by a sort of rage you might see in a murderer or worse. "You will never defeat me.. " Zigzagoon hissed with a feral glint in his discolored eyes.
Rearing back, Zigzagoon readied himself to use another attack. Screaming a battle cry, the Zigzagoon released a deafening scream known as growl. Immediately after, he shot in with his tail raised, obviously an attempt at a Tail Whip.
