The young girl smiled as she watched Charlie disappear from sight. Yes, she would train up her Pokemon, and once they were strong they could battle some more. Maybe she would even go travelling around with her Pachirisu, just like Charlie. She turned and walked away as well.
Nurse Joy looked a little surprised to see Charlie again so soon, and she quickly closed a book that she was reading. She guessed the Charlie had been in a battle, and knew she was right when the trainer placed the Riolu on the counter.
She beamed brightly at Charlie. "Of course I'll heal him. And, no, sorry. I don't have any more candies at the moment," she replied with a laugh. She gently took Cairo and carried him into a back room. A Chansey who was in the lobby when Charlie entered followed close behind.
After a few minutes, Nurse Joy and the Chansey returned, the pink Pokemon carrying Cairo. <Here you go! Your Riolu should be just fine now,> Charlene said as she handd the Pokemon to his trainer.

As Cairo was taken away to be healed, he was set under a large bulky machine with lots of blinking buttons. A great light flashed around him, and he could feel himself build up stamina and strength. As soon as it was over, he could feel himself fully rejuvenated. Nurse Joy had then lifted him up and handed him into the loving embrace of a certain Charlie Tucker.
"Cairo! You look great. Ready to go?" Charlie quipped as she drew him into her and kissed the top of his head adoringly.
"I thought you were going to buy me food.." Cairo moaned, bright eyes looking up at the adolescent.
"Gawd. Whatever." Looking to Nurse Joy, Charlie uttered a soft thanks. "Hey thanks again Nurse. Do you know of any good restaurant around here? Poke-friendly?"

Nurse Joy laughed again. "Everywhere around here is Poke-friendly. But, there aren't really any restaurants... unless you count the ice cream shop. You could probabally also get food from the PokeMart next door," she answerd helpfully.
Chansey looked at Charlie, smiling. <The ice cream shop is run by a former gym leader. If you just walk straight from here and head to the exit of town, you should be able to see it if you kep your eyes open. It's actually her house, but she put a sign on the door,> the Chansey added.

Charlie allowed a wide grin to take over her face. "That's perfect, thanks a ton you guys," the teenage thanked with a quick wave. Holding up Cairo on her shoulder, Charlie strolled out of the center with a confident air left behind.
To Charlie and Cairo's relief, the cream shop wasn't far at all. They easily found their way to the cute little house. "Sign in front of it huh?"
"There it is. Let's go in." Cairo quipped pointing to the sign that was slightly tilted to the left.
Charlie nodded, and advanced into the store, not exactly knowing what to expect of a former gym leader ice-cream shop owner..

As soon as Charlie entered the house, sofas and people were visible. Though the house looked small from the outside, it was definately not small. Many rooms branched off of the main room, which appeared to be a living room.
Everyone who was inside were either talking or watching a large TV that sat in front of the couches. Most of them were eating ice cream cones as well. There was one woman standing behind a counter in a corner.
She looked up from whiping off the cupboard as Charlie entered, a smile already on her face. "Hello! Welcome to my little Ice Cream shop!" she said happily. She spoke loudly so that she could be heard over the chatter and TV, and everyone looked around at her voice.
None of them had noticed Charlie's entrance, but now they all offered smiles or waves, obviously a cheery and kind bunch of folks. "Hi!" a few of the said. Then they returned their attention to what they had been doing.
"So, did you come here for some Ice Cream, or perhaps a battle? I was once the gym leader of Bernar Town, so I do have a lot of experience. Name's Rin by the way," she asked happily, even giving a small laugh.

Everyone was just so d**n friendly.. Is that even possible? Even in her own home no one would wave her hello like those people just did. Is was so foreign to her. Offering a fake smile, Charlie gave a slow, but unsure wave to the people.
"I think they're aliens." Cairo whispered in Charlie's ears, snickering softly.
Charlie bit back laughter, but turned to her shoulder and winked in agreement. Turning back to Rin, Charlie grinned and stuffed her hands into her free belt loops. "Any chance we could get both?" The adolescent asked pulling Skittle's pokeball from her belt.
Cairo nudged at Charlie's ear. "How come I can't battle?" Cairo moaned in disagreement.
Charlie shot her narrowed gaze up at Cairo. "You are so selfish."
"Look who's talking.." Cairo muttered under his breath.
Charlie clenched her fists, but decided against giving Cairo a noogie in front a gym leader. Mainly since she hoped to aspire to become a leader one day and was hoping she would get some tips of she showed this lady what she was made of. "Come on out Skittle!" Charlie threw up the pokeball, and an insect-like pokemon flew out.
"Why hello! Are we going to battle?" Skittle asked pleasantly.
Charlie grinned as she noticed how lucky she got having such a perky and cute little bug. "We're going to get some ice-cream first." Looking over to Rin, Charlie raised 200 coins in poke money. Hoping it was enough. "We'll take a large chocolate, then two small vanillas."
Skittle twittered in joy, while Cairo pouted in silence on Charlie's shoulder.

Rin waved away the money, shaking her head. "No no, I'll give you the ice cream as thanks for battling me! And, just between us, most of the townsfolk don't pay either," she said with a laugh and a smile. Quickly she turned around and set to work, gathering the cones and putting the frozed cream into them. "I hope that you like soft-serve, but we have the harder stuff too," she said as she handed the three ice creams to Charlie. "And, I guess that I'll let you meet my Pokemon. Well, the one I'll use in our battle, that is. Can't use any of my stronger Pokemon because their levels are way to high. But, if you come back after training a lot I'd love to have another battle using higher leveled Pokemon," she said brightly. Rin grabbed a Pokeball from her own belt anf threw it to the ground. A Miltank appeared, looking around curiously. When she spotted Charlie and her two Pokemon, she mooed eagerly. <Yes! Another battle!> she said happily. Opponent: Miltank- Lv. 5

"Soft-serve is perfect." Charlie assured with a smile, handing the small cone ice cream to Cairo while setting the ice-cream in the bowl on the floor in front of Surskit who threw her face into the icy sugar and began eating furiously.
"Mnmm," Cairo hummed as soon as he took the first lick. "it's like a little lick of poke heaven.."
Skittle was too busy to mutter thanks and had dived right in and hadn't lifted her head since. She was obviously happy.
Charlie took a quick lick, and felt her tongue tingle with an array of flavor and sweetness perfectly combined. "Maybe there is a god.." Grinning crazily, Charlie took a large bite of the top of the cone and in one bite, scarfed down half the cone. "Delicious. I don't usually give out compliments.. But this is great!" But as soon as Rin hinted that she had stronger pokemon, Charlie couldn't back down from such a challenge. "You don't need to hold back lady! We can take ya'! Skittle and Cairo are the most determined pokemon you'll ever meet! Not to say your Miltank isn't powerful.. But I can handle a lot more. Anyways, you should never underestimated Charlie Tucker! Future pokemon champ!"
As Cairo rolled his eyes at Charlie's stupid introduction, he paid no further attention to her or Skittle. Rather, he faced the lovely Miltank with a charming smile. "Do you help make this ice cream?"

Rin laughed, not at Charlie, but rather at how glad she was to have a confident opponent. Yet, it wasn't good to be over-confident. "Well, considering my next weakest Pokemon is level twenty, I think that it would be an unfair advantage on my part," she said with a smile. "And, thank you. I have tried many recipies, and I think that this is the one."
The Miltank, who had been quiet while the Trainer and her Pokemon were eating their ice cream, beamed at the Riolu. <Yes, I love to help make this Ice Cream! So, you like it?> she asked happily.

Shaking her head, Charlie took the final chomp at her ice-cream. "Oh well, it's your funeral lady." Raising her head with a smug grin, and an ice-cream mustache, she put the ice-cream cup down, and looked over at Skittle who had just finished her ice cream and was licking her face with her small tongue, where most of the ice-cream had taken refuge.
Snatching up a napkin from the seat next to her, Charlie gave a small chuckle, and wiped the ice-cream from Skittle's face, then folded it over and wiped off her own 'stache'. "You ready to get started?" Charlie questioned with a sly grin.
Skittle looked ecstatic to finally be in a battle. But first-- manners. "Thank you so much Miss Rin. The ice-cream was delightful. But now I'm ready to battle. And I never hold back."
Charlie looked down proudly at Skittle. "That's what I like to hear. Now let's go outside so we don't disturb anyone here." Charlie rationalized, picking up Skittle and beginning to walk outside. "Come on Cairo. You can flirt with the cow later."
Cairo was about to express his love for the taste, texture, and perfection of the ice-cream, but was cutoff by the embarrassment that Charlie had just besieged on him. He felt his cheeks flush from red to pink, back to blue. "Hehe.. You better get that battle going. Charlie isn't a very patient girl." Not knowing what else to say, Cairo shot after Charlie, a slow rage building in his stomache. Did she always have to be such a meanie?

"Wait, how about we use the battlefield?" Rin asked before Charlie could walk outside. She came out from behind her counter, and walked over to a nearby door. Opening it, a relatively large battle arena could be seen through the doorway.
Rin blushed a little herself. "Hehe, I jusr couldn't resist having a battle field around..." she said a little awkwardly. "Sound good?" she added, a determined tone in her voice.
The Miltank blushed a deep crimson at Charlie's words, and the blush did not fade. For a lack of anything to say she merely hurried through the now-open door into the battle room.

Charlie whipped around with wide eyes as she stared into the enormous hidden arena. "Awesome." Hurrying over with Skittle still in her embrace, the teen quickly changed direction, and dashed into the battlefield, taking her side and setting down the Surskit.
Skittle took this chance to stretch her limbs. She knew that she would have to use her fast, limber limbs to outmaneuver the powerhouse Miltank. But she was up for the challenge. Hopefully Charlie was too.
Cairo then trailed after Charlie, and as soon as she took her side, Cairo lifted himself onto the cuff of Charlie's jeans, climbed from there up to her satchel, where he made a daring leap to her shoulder. Although what she did to him was rude, Cairo couldn't deny his adoration of Charlie. She was his trainer..
Charlie paid no further attention to Cairo but motioned Skittle over to give her a basic plan.
Seeing the motion, the swift insect skated over gracefully under she was a breaths-length away from Charlie.
"All right. Just from looking, I can tell this Miltank won't be a pushover. And it's tactics will definately be strong. Because it has a former gym leader as it's trainer, this battle will push you to the limit. Can you handle it? If you can't I'll just have Cairo battle rather than you."
"I can do this with two of my legs tied over my head! I'm ready! Let's go! Yeah!" Skittle chanted skating around in fast-paced little circled around the arena as if it were a skating rink.
"Show-off."
Charlie gave one of her proudest faces. "That's good thinking. Now it's time to rumble!"

Rin too entered the arena, taking her place across from Charlie. All of the guests from the other room entered through the door, making way excitedly over to some bleachers that were at the sidelines of the field. They loved to watch a good battle.
"I hope that you don't mind if they watch... They enjoy to see hot battles, especially after having just eating the cold ice cream!" she said to Charlie, a bit apologetically. She really did hope that the trainer wouldn't mind, as she would hate to shoo everyone out. But, she would if Charlie wanted her to.
"Alrighty then Miltank, take your position!" Rin commanded her pink Pokemon. The cow obeyed, moving in front of the former gym leader to face the skating Surskit.
<How about you go first then?> the Normal-type asked, giving a slight bow to the Water spider.

Charlie shrugged with a smug grin. "Doesn't bother me. But if they want to watch their old gym leader get whooped, then let them." the adolescent ranted with a confident air lofting about her. "anyways, Skittle! Take your place!" Charlie commanded, taking a readied stance when it wasn't even she whom was the battler.
Skittle obeyed commands gracefully and took her place in the center of her side. Bending her legs to shoot off without warning, Skittle appeared to be quite ready for the battle; even if the Miltank was stronger than her muscle wise, and taller too. She knew that speed was the only way to beat this cow. And she would do it with energy left to spare! Hopefully.. "I think I will thanks." The Surskit replied with a kind smile in response to the Miltank.
Charlie's brow knitted together as she belted her first command. "Skittle! Get in close and use bubble! Then skate away as fast as you can! Distance yourself at all times unless going in for an attack, kay? Good. Now Go!"

The sheer speed of the Surskit amazed the Miltank, but Rin had expected the Pokemon to be fast. Yet, maybe not THAT fast. The little blue Pokemon had skated up to the Miltank, unleashed a stream of bubbles, and skated away before the Normal-type knew what had happened.
The bubbles assaulted her, sending little jolts of pain through the Miltank's body as they popped on her skin. She cried out a little, but then set her sights on the speedy opponent.
"Quick, Mel, use Growl!" Rin commanded. Mel obeyed, releasing a loud growl from her mouth that carried throughout the small stadium, echoing off of the walls.
