Cass ran along the beginnings of Route Two, her eyes scanning the land in front of her as he searched for the ma who had taken the Shinx. She would find them, had too!
But what if they couldn't stop him? Cass froze inwardly, her mind seeming to shut off as she ran. He was obviously strong if the Heracross was afraid of him.
"What if we can't do it?" She mumbled to herself, temporarily forgetting the Skitty with good hearing next to her. She quickly changed her focus to the ground, but the though still lingered in he head, like a bad dream.

The Skitty frowned a little at Cass's words. <Come on, we can do it! We have to!!> she said. The Pokemon smiled reasuringly at Cass. But, then, the Skitty too moved her vision to the ground, with different thoughts running through her mind.
Up ahead the path diverged into three more paths. One kept going straight, but small puddles covered it increasingly as it grew farther away. Another path was more to the right, and the ground was soggy and muddy. The third route appeared by far the driest, with only a very small puddle to be seen.
Noticing this, the Skitty stopped. Her tail twitched nervously, and she seemed to be conflicted about something. <Cass,> she finally said, <after we find him and rescue the Shinx's.... what will we do? I mean, will we split up? Cass, I don't want to leave you. I want to share adventures with you, Cass!>
You must choose a path to travel.

Cass froze, wondering what she should do. "I don't want to leave you either, Skitty, but.." She paused, biting her lip. "But I'm a Pokemon Trainer. Do you want to stay here, where you grew up? Or do yo want to live the life of a Battler, and the many risks that follow.."
Cass pause, gazing at the three paths as she sighed. "It's like these three paths. One may seem dry in th beginning, but as you go on, it might be the wettest. And the wettest might end up the driest, or even the one in between could be the driest!" Cass sighed. "What I'm trying to say is, do you want to take the risks? I'd love for you to come with me but.. it's your decision.
Cass left the Skitty to mull over wat she'd said as she smiled softly and began her trek down the middle path, knowing the Skitty would be right behind her.

The Skitty did follow right behind Cass, and she was indeed thinking about what Cass had said. After a moment she pawed one of Cass's legs, and indicated to an empty Pokeball.
<True, there may be many risks, but it is also a life full of adventure, and new friendships. How could I go back home while you are out on your journey? I would never be at peace, always worrying about you and hoping that you are okay. Cass, I want to be your partner.> the Skitty said, a note of finality in her voice. <That is my decision.>
The puddles, which had appeared so numerous at first, had diminished, and now finally were gone all together. A little farther up ahead, the road diverged again, but this time there were only two paths. They came out from the path that Cass and the Skitty were now walking on in a 'Y' like fashion. Both appeared dry.

Cass eyed the two new paths, wondering which one she should take next, when Skitty's paw it her leg. She listened to the Pokemon's words, her eye softening as she listened.
Cass smiled warmly at the Skitty, barely able to contain her joy. She grabbed a Pokeball from her bag, and softly threw it at the Skitty. She felt sightly guilty for taking time to do this nad leaving the Shinx with the man even longer... But she was still very happy.

The ball hit the Skitty, and she smiled as the red light engulfed her. The ball then fell to the ground, bu tdidn't even shake once before a 'Ding!' sounded, signalling the succesful catch os the Skitty.

Cass grinned and picked the Pokeball up, cradling it in her hands. She sighed happily, realizing she had captured, or befriended, the likelier term, her first Pokemon. She suddenly stared down a path, her grin a determined smirk. She threw Skitty's Pokeball to the ground, releasing the Pokemon.
"Let's go save those Shinx!" She cried, flying down the path to the left. "We went right last time, let's go left!"
Skitty nodded and quickly followed, a content smile on her face.
-------- OoC -I'm assuming I can control Skitty now... I'll give her a name eventually.

OoC: Yes, Skitty is yours to control. ^^
-------
The left path stayed dry, with only the occasional puddle. If Cass looked over towards where the right path had gone, she would have seen it becoming completely covered in water. Weeds made their way onto the path, looking more like seaweed than anything else.
Farther up ahead, the path split again. This time it was another Y shaped cut-off. In the water and weeds to the side of Cass came a rustling sound. The sound got closer, untilo it was right by the side of the path Cass was walking on, then it stopped.

Cass froze at the rustling sound, and Skitty hissed, her ears flattening against the back of her head. Cass knew it had to be a Pokemon of some sort. What else would be out here? But they didn't exactly have time for this...
<I'll go and check it out.> Skitty mumbled softly, glaring at where she had last heard the rustling. She crouched down low to the ground and began to inch her way towards it.

When the Skitty approached the source of the rustling sound, a Lotad jumped onto the path in front of Cass. He was twitching, and obviously quite nervous. He backed a few steps back from Cass, but other than that he kept his ground, shivering.
Up ahead, trees were now visible, and there was an old lady standing near the end of the path. She seemed to be waiting for Cass. [/sub]

Cass stared at the Lotad in surprise, and vsibly relaxed. She nodded at Skitty, who immeadiately looked less threatening as she calmed, although she was still slightly wary of the Lotad.
Cass took note of how much the Lotad was quivering, and she said, in a soft voice, "It's okay. Were not going to hurt you. We just need to go down this path, alright?" She slowly made her way around the Lotad, trying to show that she wasn't going to hurt the Pokemon.
Skitty followed silently, her eyes narrowed slightly as they bgan to make their way down the path again, and toward the old lady.

The Lotad looked surprised that the trainer hadn't attacked it. <Thank you! You are much nicer than that man who came by earlier!> he called before jumping back into the water.
The old lady called out to Cass as she drew closer. "Hello! I am Gracie. I'm surprised that you found your way along the correct route. You are that second person, but the man that came before you used an Abra to find the way. He wasn't very nice at all," she said.
With a broad smile on her face, she pulled something from a bag at her side. "I'm afraid that all I have are Rare Candies... take a few."
You recieved 3 Rare Candies! [/sub]

Cass nodded at the Lotad as it left, her eyes darkening at the mention of a man. 'It must be that guy who took the Shinx!' She growled to herself. She quickly carried on, Skitty at her heels. She was rather surprised when the lady handed her the Rare Candies.
"Oh, thank you!' She said, smiling as she placed them in her bag. She'd give them to her Pokemon later. " You mentioned a man. Can you tell me which way he went? I'm looking for him, and it's really important that I catch up." Cass said, her fists clenching as she thought of him.
<It's okay, Cass.> Skitty said from her place at her feet. <We''ll find him.>

"You're Welcome. Yes, the man went that way into the forest. He seemed to be in a great hurry and was carrying a brown sack on his back," Gracie replied pointing toward Camsakell forest. Then she noticed Cass's clenched fists. "I knew he was up to no good. I wish that I would have stopped him for you. Good luck in finding him!" she added nodding. [/sub]

"Thank you." Cass said again as she nodded at the lady. She glanced at Skitty who was staring determindedly at the Forest entrance.
"C'mon Skitty, let's go!" She yelled as she dashed toward the entrance, not even sparing a glance back as he entered the forest.
------ I started blanking on whether or not I should write her entering the forest and leaving ROute 2, so I wrote it anyways... ^^
