Cass ran into the forest, Skitty on her heels, her eyes scanning every inch of the ground as she searched for the man or any clues that would lead them to him.
"When we find him, he is SO gonna wish he was never born!" Cass raged, not caring that she had used such a cliched line that it wasn't even remotely amusing. But if ever reminded, she would probably groan in embarrassment.
Nevertheless, Skitty nodded in agreement, using her eyes, ears, and nose to find the man as well. <He won't know what hit him!> She agreed playfully, smirking a bit as she searched.

A hushing sound came from the trees and a woman walked out in front of Cass. Well, she wasn't exactly human. She had the tail of an Espeon and the ears of an Umbreon. She had tufts of purple fur coming out fro slits on her pants on her knees. She also had a jewel in the middle of her forehead, much like that of an Espeon.
"Shh, be quiet. I am supposed to take you to where the man you are chasing went. Tarei is already waiting for us there. She sent me to get you so that you didn't do anything foolish," the 'Morph said. She took a second to look Cass over. "Yes, I know about the reckless thing you did back on Route One. Tarei told me, and she heard it from Nurse Joy. I would have done the same thing though," she added with a wink.
She motioned for Cass to follow her, then began walking off. "Oh yeah, my name's Eifacky, but PLEASE call me Eia. And, the Pokemon from Route One are all okay," she said, figuring that Cass would want to know. [/sub]

Cass skidded to a stop infront of the 'Morph, eyes wide in surprise. She stared at the 'Morph apprehensively, although it quickly melted away to confuision. "Professor Tarei?" She questioned, blinking in confusion. She was even more confused when she found that she knew what she;d done, though she quickly accepted it when it was explained.
Skitty stared at the 'Morph for a moment, before her gaze turned to Cass, lost. She had no idea who this Professor Tarei was. <Can we go save the Shinx please?> She questioned, wondering why they kept getting sidetracked.
"Okay, uhh, Eia. C'mon Skitty." Cass said, still rather confused as she picked her Pokemon up and followed the 'Morph. If you looked, you could see twin smiles off relief upon both Cass' and Skitty's faces.

The Poke'morph only offered a slight nod in responce to Cass's question. She led the Trainer and Skitty for a while, easily moving between the trees. Finally, they arrived at the appointed area. Professor Tarei was kneeling behind some bushes, a stely glint in her eyes. Eia quickly moved down beside her, motioning for Cass to do likewise.
On the other side of the bushes was a clearing. It was not a natural clearing, but rather man made. An encampment was in it, with little activity. The three Shinx could be seen in a cage, and there appeared to be an argument among two men who were standing near the cage. One was the same man that Cass had chased.
"Hi, Cass. The Heracross told Nurse Joy everything that had happened, and she called me immediately. It was perfect timing actually, because most of the people stationed here left for some reason. There are only six left. Those two, by the cage with the Shinx, are the weakest. One is only an intern, and he has two low0level Pokemon. The other's only strong Pokemon was the Heracross. He has two weak Pokemon left. We'll leave those two to you. I'll get the two talking on the left, and Eia will get the two remaining on the right," Professor Tarei explained quickly, her voice a barely audible whisper. [/sub]

Cass followed the 'Morph, eyes set in a determined glare as she thought of the coming battle. Would they let her fight? If Professot Tarei was there, then probably not, she thought glumly But she quickly regained her determination. It was about saving those Shinx, not battling!
As the 'Morph finally led Cass and Skitty to Professor Tarei, Cass listened intently, grinning a bit when she realized she'd get to fight, especially when she found it was against the man she'd run into.
Cass said nothing, only nodding that she was ready. She waited for some sort of signal, anticipation building up as she realized this would be her first real trainer to trainer battle. Or trainer to bad guy, anyways...

Cass stared at her foes as they bickered, still hidden. She was rather nervous, and with good reason. She took a deep breathe, and with a determined nod, she jumped from the bush, landing in plain view of her two opponents.
"Long time no see!" Cass grinned, directing the comment to the one who had captured the Shinx. "Thought you'd seen the last of me, didn't ya?"
Cass suddenly gagged, blinking as she realized what she was saying. "God, I sound like a bad cartoon villian!" She wailed as Skitty snickered. Their plan had been to infuriate the two, so they wouldn't think when they were battling, and she hoped it would work.
She suddenly grinned at the two and snatched a Pokeball from her bag, tossing it to the ground. "Let's play! Go Taka! Go Sktty"
The Pokeball fell to the ground, releasing the Fanizel within. Taka studied his surroundings for a moment before he smiled and got into a battle position, choosing to stay silent.
Skitty raced forward and opted for a different approach, compared to Taka's scilence.. <You'll pay!> She hissed, glaring at the two.

Both goons stopped arguing immediately as Cass jumped in front of them. They stood there with mouths agape for a while, until the first one grabbed a ball from his belt angrily. Cass's plan had worked, at least on him.
The other one looked back and forth between the two, confused. When he saw his teammate grabbing his pokeball, he went for his as well. In a moment, Taka and Skitty were facing an Abra and Spinarak.
"Just try and make me pay!" the first one growled furiously. The other guy shook his head in disbelief.
"Spinarak, use string shot! Try to pin that Skitty down!" he yelled, still not ure why they wer battling. His confusion heightened as shouts and sounds of battle came from both sides. The Spinarak released a string of sticky web at the Skitty. [/sub]

Cass smirked at the man as he released an Abra, shaking her head. As far as she knew, Abra only knew teleport until it evolved into Kadabra, which, if he was weak as Professor Tarei said, was far away. Unless it had been taught by a TM, she didn't need to focus on it.
The Spinarak was a different story. "Skitty, catch it with your tail!" Cass yelled, hoping that the added wait to jher tail wouldn't effect her balance.
Skitty quickly complied, making a face as the sticky substance coated her tail.
"Taka, Skitty, tackle the Spinarak!" She yelled, a wide grin on her face as adrenaline ran through her veins. "Let's win this!"
Taka and Skitty charged, toward the bug type, ready to send it flying.

The man with the Abra cursed under his breath. "Abra, teleport in front of Spinarak!" he called out out sending a smug smirk his companions way. Taka and Skitty's attack hit Abra head on, sending it flying back into a tent. Still smiling smugly, he recalled the Abra into its ball with hardly a thought.
"There, NOW whose the idiot? It's not my fault that I didn't know that Shinx don't learn electric attacks until they are a high level," he said to the intern.
"Spinarak could have dodged that, you dope! And if you would have done research, you would have known!" the intern replied angrily, but quickly turned back to the battle. "Spinarak, poison sting!" he ordered even as the first guy released a Machop.
"Machop, go in fast for a Low Kick!!" the first guy said, his face red from anger. [/sub]

Cass snickered at the man's mistake. One Pokemon down. She studied the Machop for a moment, before nodding top herself. They would have to be careful. "Take the hits guys! Taka, leer! Skitty, Tackle!
Taka grunted as he took the low kick, skidding back a bit. He just smirked and leered at the Machop, trying to scare it.
Skitty let out a yelp as the poison entered her body, and she hissed at the Spinarak. She quickly dashed toward it using another Tackle attack.

Machop flinched and took a step away from the Fanizel. "Come on you stinking coward!" the first guy yelled at his Pokemon. The second guy turned his attention from the battle and regarded the first guy in disgust.
"He's your Pokemon! How could you say that?" he asked incredulously. The first guy didn't respond, just glowered at Machop.
Of course the pause by the second guy cost his Spinarak. It got hit full force by Skitty's tackle, and it fell onto its back. "Ah! Spinarak, I'm sorry! Quick, use string attack at Skitty!!"
"Use Focus Energy!" the first guy yeled to Machop. Machop stood his ground and pumped his arms, then stood still in a concetrating position. Spinarak shot a web at Skitty from its lying down position. [/sub]

Cass glared at the man in disgust as he yelled at his Machop. "I feel sorry for that Machop, having YOU for an owner!" She sneered, disgust seeming to drip from her voice. "Skitty," She turned her attention back to the battle, "Catch it on your tail again! Then use growl! Taka, tackle the Machop!" Cass yelled, hoping to knock the Machop out soon. She felt sorry for the poor thing, but she had to finish the battle.
Skitty quickly caught the string on her tail again, grunting as she hissed in pain. She took extra care in walking, as she was feeling slightly lopsided, due tot he weight of her tail. She quickly focused on the battle again, and growled viciously at the Spinarak, her teeth glistening as her lips curled.
Taka quickly attacked at concentrating Machop, determination gleaming in his eyes as he flew at the fighting type in a Tackle attack.

OoC: I went to Psypokes, and found out that Low Kick would do very little damage to Taka because Fanizel is lighter than Machop, lol. Didn't know that.
-------------------------------
Neither of the men said a word, both now too engrossed in the battle. The one who had stolen the Shinx was so blind by rage that he didn't even realize that Machop's Low Kick attack did next to zero damage to the Fanizel.
Machop was hit forcefully by the tackle, skidding back. He grunted and fell to his knees weakly, but managed to get back ot his feet. Taka hit a weak spot! The Machop then used his Low Kick while Taka was close, the attack pumped a little from the Focus Energy. It already knew that his trainer would have ordered that.
This time it was the Spinarak's turn to flinch as his attack lowered. The growl made all of his nerves tingle and he closed his eyes.
"Quick, use Poison Sting!" the second guy called. Spinarak unleashed a jet of poison needle, but its eyes were still shut tight. [/sub]

Cass grinned as she watched the Machop, noticing how weak it was As long as Taka hit it a few more times, it would be out soon. Spinarak might still be in the game for a while longer though. "Taka, Skitty, take the hits again!" She yelled, her confidence level rising a bit. Low Kick wasn't doing very much to Taka, thankfully, and Skitty was alrady poisoned, so it wouldn't do too much, she just might faint a little faster.
Taka grunted as the attack connected, but was mostly still oaky, if not feeling a tiny bit weak.
Skitty let out a squeak as the poison sting hit her, but she knew it wouldn't do a lot of damage. But the poison was beginning to take it's toll, and she was breathing heavily.
Cass knew she had to end this soon for Skitty, she would faint at this rate! "Taka, use another Tackle attack! You too Skitty!"
Taka nodded and charged at the Machop again, going as fast as possible to gain more force, hoping to do as much damage as possible so the battle would end.
Skitty was tiring and knew she would faint soon. She would make every attack count. She bared her teeth and dashed forward, knowing her Growl had done it's job. Hopefully she could get a good hit in with the Spinarak's eyes still closed.
