The attack, once again, struck. The Natu, unable to withstand any more fell to the ground. she tweeted as she fought to remain concious, but it was no use. Blackness overtook her in a moment.
The Natu lay still on the ground. By now stars were covering the sky, shining on the Psychi-types feathers. The sky was dark, but the brightness that radiated from the stars and moon easily lit up the fields.
It was a quiet night, as most of the Pokemon were sleeping. A sound like that of crickets that must have been coming from a lot of Bug Pokemon filled the air, adding a serene yet eerie feeling to the night. [/sub]

Ay smirked as the Natu fainted, and was about to let out a cry of victory, but she paused as Cass smiled and brought a finger to herlips, signaling to Aya to be quiet. Aya pouted, but she listened, happy she had won the battle.
Cass smiled again and dug into her backpack, withdrawing an unused pokeball. She quickly tossed it to the Natu's motionless body, attempting to capture the pokemon. "Great job, Aya." Cass said softly, breaking the silence.
Cass was silent as she awaited the sound that signalled a succesful capture, allowing the soft sounds of the light to send her into a serene calm. "I'll find you, Drake..."

The Pokeball flew silently through the air, enclosing around the Natu. It seemed to shake, or at least to have small spasms. In a couple of seconds, it stopped and a rythmati Ding! added to the melody of the Bug-types.
It was indeed a beautiful night. It seemed to hint that everything would be okay, everything would work out. The no matter how dark and cloudy things seemed, it would eventually become clear and bright.

Cass smiled as the Pokeball vanished from sight, transporting itself to her PC. She looked at Aya and withdrew the Fire Horse'sPokeball. "C'mon Aya, rest for now." Was all she said before the Ponyta was swept up in a red light and encased.
Aya made no move of protest and allowed herself to be recalled, to tired to argue.
Cass smiled and pocketed the pokeball, sighing peacefully. Right now, she felt as if everything would be okay. And she desperately hoped it would be in the end.
Cass looked to the stars for a moment before wandering back toward the path, ready to go back through the route and continue forward.

The path shone brilliantly in the light, as did the sign that marked the entrance of the Underground Tunnel. The entrance was dark, and it was easily noticeable that it was indeed pitch black inside of the tunnel.
Before Cass got too close to the entrance, a voice called out. "Hey there! What's a Lass like you doing out here at night?" the voice asked friendly-like. A man came into view, leading a Mareep. The sheep Pokemon appeared as if he would like nothing better than to go to sleep.
The man looked at the cave entrance ahead of them, then back at Cass. "By my guess you are a Pokemon Trainer. You lookn' to go to Bernar Town? Thing is, Im a headin' that way meself. Got to bring Flaffy here home, you see," he said kindly. "Yer gonna need Flash to get through here... all of my Mareep Know it, so I no longer need this 'ere HM. You take it," he added, handing a small round disk to Cass.
"Oh, name's Will by the way," he added, giving Cass a small wink.

Cass stared into the darkness of the tunnel, mentally wondering how she was going to get through without becoming completely lost. She was about to enter and try to wing it, but paused, blinking in surprise as the man called out to her. She turned to look at him and his Mareep, listening to what he had to say, and mentally rejoicing whenhe gave er the answer to her problems.
"Thanks, I'm Cass." She grinned and held the HM, mentally going over the list of her on hand pokemon. Who could she teach it to? It took her a moment, but she suddenly realized something.
"Crud! None of my Pokemon can learn this move!" She hung her head, mentally moaning and wondering why she hadn't thought of bringing Kai along with her.

The man nodded, thinking. "Well, how 'bout I help you through the tunnel then? I've ben through so much I coul' do it withou' the Flash!" he laughed. "So, whad'ya say? Want Flaffy 'ere to lead the way?" he asked.
The sounds stilled filled the night air, but they would disappear once Cass did enter the tunnel. Up the hill, above the tunnel, the path led. But, at the top the area was fenced off, and a large suspicious sign said, 'Do Not Enter, On Pain of Death!' [/sub]

Cass grinned and nodded, sighing in relief. ""Yeah, that'd be great, thanks!" She smiled and looked toward the tunnel, pausing suddenly and frowning. Her eyes widened and she glanced toward Will. The Grim would probably put a sign like that up, what if this 'Will' was sent to capture her after she had helped to destroy their machine?!
'Nah," She thought, shaking her head. She was just being paranoid. But, it wouldn't hurt to be careful... "What's with that sign up there?" She questioned, glancing at Will to see if she got any strange reaction from him.

Will looked a little confused at first, then looked up the hill to where Cass had indicated. A frown crossed his face as well, and he turned to Cass with a sigh.
"I have no idea. One day, it was just there. That used to be the way everyone travelled from Bernar Town to this here Route, but somebody must have fenced the whole area off. Now, if any of us wants to come 'ere we must travel through this dang tunnel. Ter be honest, it is a bit of a pain, but it's the only choice now. Thanks to professor Tarei for havin it built, else we wouldn't be able to travel 'ere at all," he answered shaking his head.
Then he smiled. "But, don' you be worryin yer head abou' it. I'm sure that ye're plannin to battle the gym leader of Bernar Town, now am I right?" he asked with a laugh. "Yer in fer your money then!" he added.
Will stepped forward, half of his body disappearing from sight into the dark tunnel. "Come on Flaffy, uswe yer Flash and light the way!"
The Mareep yawned loudly, then walked into the tunnel, the blackness completely swallowing him. In a second his voice sounded out. "Mareeep!" he cried, then the cave was flooded with light, revealing the interior. It was rocky, and right at the beginning there was a bend that wound around out of sight.
"Come on then Lass," the man said nicelly, motioning for Cass to follow as he walked farther into the cave. The Mareep walked in front of him, keeping the way lit. The Tunnel was now accecable. [/sub]

Cass was still unsure about Will, and glanced at the sign again. She'd ask Professot Tarei about it later. She looked back to Will, pausing to watch the Flaffy light up. She wasn't sure what to do. Chance going through the tunnel with Will, even though he might be part of the Grim? Or go above and use the path that was blocked off?
She sighed and quickly followed after Will, desperately hoping everything would turn out okay, and wishing she was back outisde with the comforting sounds of the night.
