Cass wandered Nirven, searching for Nurse Joy's nephew, Jacob. It had been a few minutes, and she had yet to spot the purple roof that was Jacob's house. "See anything, Tokala, Akina?
<No, Cass.> Akina answered quietly as he head swiveled about.
<N- Wait! Over there Cass!>Tokala yelled pointing forward.
Cass grinned and searched for it, but she was sorely disappointed. "There's nothing there, Tokala." Cass said, her eye twitching in irritation.
Cass' remark was met with a n exasperated sigh.< Over THERE! Behind those trees!>
Sure enough, there it was. Cass grinned sheepishly as Akina giggled at her trainer. "Sorry, Tokala." Cass mumbled petting her Pokemon affectionately as she sighed.
<It's okay.> The two replied as Cass took off toward the house.
Cass soon cam upon the house and she eagerly ran toward it, a large grin spread across her face. She rapped the door loudly three times and waited for someone to answer.

A man's voice can be heard as footsteps neared the door. "Jacob, if you keep it up I won't train you anymore! I never wanted you to become so prideful! That is NOT the mark of a good trainer, nor a good person. If you don't watch it your Pokemon may soon cease to respect you!" the voice yelled.
Suddenly, the door swung open to reveal a large, middle-aged man with a moustache. "Oh, I'm sorry miss. Do you want something?" he asked. He could tell that this young girl was a trainer, and he could also see the great trust her Pokemon held for her. "Your Pokemon trust and admire you greatly," he remarked, "that is the mark of a great trainer, and a great person. I only wish my son could understand that." [/sub]

Cass smiled at the man, a slight blush across her cheeks as Tokala stood proudly and Akina loosened her grip on Cass' neck. Cass pretended she hadn't heard what the man had yelled a moment ago.
" Thank you sir. My name is Cass, and part of the reason I'm here is because I was told your son, Jacob, was a strong trainer. I also heard he was a rather big headed." Cass said, mumbling the last part.
"Anyways, I came to challenge you son to a Pokemon battle. That is, if he wants too." Cass said, knowing full well that Jacob would say yes, if what Nurse Joy told her was true.

Jacob, who was lurking inside just out of sight, shouted out his acceptance before his father even had a chance to reply. Fortunately, he had not heard tha part that was mumbled. "I'll drive you into the dirt! No one can beat me, I'm the best! Ha, you don't look any stronger than any of the other losers in this town," he said while readying a pokeball.
"I'm sorry," the man apologizes, "and, yes, he is. Very, as you can tell." He moved out of the doorway so that his overly-anxious son could get past.
Hah, so, I'm guessing that you only have two Pokemon? A two-on-two battle it is then!" he laughed, not even waiting to release his Pokemon. "Come on, Ginds!" he cried throwing the ball up into the air.
In a flash of bright red light, a Charmander appears. It has a dark black scar-like mark on its face, and the flames on its tail are sprinkled with black. The Pokemon sighed sadly at facing another battle. It too seemed tired of his trainer's boasting.
"Okay, lets go!" the boy says confidently.

Cass smiled at the man. "It's okay. Mayb if I defeat he'll be knocked down a few pegs." Cass' smile quickly turned to a grin. Akina or Tokala? Cass decisicoin was made quickly, for after a few moments she pointed forward. "Tokala, let's go! Tackle that Charmander! Let's knock 'm down a few pegs!
Tokala was quick to please as he speedily charged at the Fire type, swerving around a bit just incase the Charmander retaliated before he could attack. <Yeah! My first battle! I'm gonna win, for you Cass!> He would win, for Cass, and for himself, so he could prove that he was strong.

Jacob flashed with anger at Cass's remark, but he was too shocked by the trainer's speed and surety to speak. No one in the town had moved in that fast. They all took their time, them battling usually more for leisure than anything else.
The attack hits the mark and the charmander goes flying. It stands up quickly, though it is panting. It looked out of shape, as if it hadn't battled for a long time.
"Ginds, come on! You have to beat her! Don't be pathetic! Scratch, go!" Jacob yells angrily that the opponent got the first hit. Ginds moved in slowly, and only half caring about defeating the Eevee. However, though he wished to, he would not disobey his trainer, so he moved in full force for a scratch attack. [/sub]

"Yeah, go Tokala!" Cass cheered. He had landed the first hit, and it seemed the Charmander, Ginds, heart wasn't even in the battle. There's was no way Jacob would win if his Pokemon didn't have the will to fight!
Tokala smiled as his attack landed and Cass cheered. But frowned as he watched the Charmander, He seemed tired, overworked. But this thought went to the back of his mind as Ginds charged him, coming at him with a Scratch attack.
"Tokala, use Tail Whip!" Cass called as Ginds came near, her voice laced with a little worry. She had every right to be, as it was his first battle.
Tokala responded quickly, his tail slashing around in an attempt to lower Ginds defense. ------- OoC - I think it lowers defense anyways... What would Helping Hand do here anyways?

OOC: Not much time to write... umm, helping hand would streangthen the Pokemon you choose for the space of one attack. It can be used even if the Pokemon is not in the battle. Oh, and you have to decide which attacks hit you. You can only dodge twice in a battle like this. Once against wild Pokemon, and three times against a Gym Leader. Twice per Pokemon. Akk, Sorry, will post the reply to your tommorrow. I have to go to bed.
Ginds is struck with the Eevee's tail, its defense lowering visibly. "Come on Ginds! Tear him to peices," Jacob calls anxiously. He clenched his teeth together aggravatedly at the thought of loosing the battle. Especially after he had taunted Cass so much.
Ginds brushes off the tail, though still weakened by it, and continues in for a scratch attack. Obviously his trainer wasn't going to change, though he wanted him to so badly.
Jacob looks at his disspirited Pokemon and begins to wonder if what his dad said hel;d some truth. What if Ginds did stop obeying him? What if Ginds began to HATE him... [/sub]

Cass watched the Charmander, a sad look in her eyes. She didn't want to cause the Fire Type anymore harm. But if she did nothing, Jacob would become his snobby self again, doing more harm than she could. She sighed, distressed. But a nudge from Akina brought her back to her senses. The Dragon type seemed to smile in reassurance. That, somehow, everything would be alright. Cass grinned at the Pokemon and looked determinedly at the charging Charmander.
"Tokala, meet his Scratch with your Tackle! Go!" Cass yelled.
Tokala nodded. He didn't want to hurt the Charmander either but he knew he had to do his part in teaching Jacob a lesson. the Eevee charged forward his face set in a determined frown.

OOC: Your supposed to decide if the opponets attack hits you or not, and what effect it has on your Pokemon, but I guess that I will post it this once ^^
When the two Pokemon collide, their attacks each hit the other and they go flying backward. Ginds gets to his feet painfully, but it is obvious that he is at the end of his rope. One or two more hits and he would faint. It didn't bother him; he would not give in, even if his spirit was not in the battle.
Jacob, upon seeing his Pokemon flying back for the second time and the pain it showed, began to open his eyes to the truth. He saw how well Cass worked with her Pokemon, how close they seemed. He saw her sadness and finally realized that neither she, nor her Pokemon, wanted to hurt his Charmander.
A tear comes to his eye as he thinks about what he has done. How could he have been so... snobbish! He laughed at all of his friends, and then he wondered why they had never wanted to hang out with him anymore. It wasn't everyone else that was weak, it was him. He fell to the pride of winning. He let it consume him.
His tears now fully falling, he grabs Ginds's pokeball. "Ginds, I'm so sorry... come on, return," he says sadly.
Ginds turns to his trainer, disbelieving. He saw the old Jacob back in him. With a smile, Ginds shakes his head, refusing to quit the battle. <No, I will continue. For you.> the Charmander says.
At Jacob's returned, friendly, humbled smile, the Charmander turns back to Cass and Tokala. <Thank you> he whispers to them, truly gratefull. Before Jacob even utters the next attack, Ginds knows what he will say. The Charmander's eyes glow red as he uses a leer attack. [/sub]

Cass, Akina, and Tokala all smiled as Jacob finally seemed to get it. There smiles grew as the Charmander refused to give up. "Your welcome." Cass mumbled, just loud enough that Charmander would hear her. "Okay, now we can really fight Jacob!" Cass yelled a large, excited grin spread across her face.
Tokala was overjoyed that they Charmander would fight harder. But he still flinched a bit at the Charmnder's Leer.
"Tokala, use Tail Whip again!" Cass yelled.
Tokala quickly complied his tail slashing the air as he attacked.

For the first time in the battle, Ginds actually managed to dodge the Eevee's strike. He jumped to the side, away from the blow.
Jacob smiled, joyous at the thrill of a real battle. He hadn't had one in so long. "Ginds, quick, use scratch!" he called to the Charmander. Smiling happiliy, the Pokemon quickly dived in with his scratch attack.
Jacob's father, who had watched the entire battle so far, looked thankfully towards Cass. He could once again be proud of his son. It took the help of a trainer with a special bond to her Pokemon, but his son had finally straitened out. [/sub]

Cass didn't notice the thankful glance Jacob's father gave her, for she was too into the battle. She had a wide grin on her face as watched. She didn't seem at all dismayed that the Tail Whip didn't work.
"Yeah, Tokala evade the Scratch go in for a Tackle!" Cass yelled. She couldn't seem to sit still, so she was basically dancing where she stood in excitement.
Tokala nodded and jumped away from Ginds' Scrtatch. He quickly retaliated, rushing forward with a fierce, determined look on his face as he charged.

OOC: Sorry about the helping hand thing; I forgot to tell you that it is only the rule I have for this site. And, just to let you know, Tokala can no longer dodge an attack after that one... because that one made two (I think ^^).
---------------------
Ginds was shocked that his attack had missed, and he didn't react in time to avoid the tackle. This time though, instead of flying backwards, he just slid back a few feet. His knees shook, as if they are about to give out.
With a determined look upon his face, Ginds straightened up. If it hadn't of been for his Leer attack lowering the Eevee's attack, he wouldn't have been able to take that attack.
Jake looked to his Pokemon, knowing that he was too weak to take another hit, wheras Tokala was barely weakened at all. He would have to use his Charmander's secret attacks. "Uggh, I didn't want to do this, but Ginds, use agility, then come in for a bite attack!" he called.
The Charmander had learned the two more powerful moves from TMs that Jacob's father had, but he had never used them before. Now was the time to try. Focusing on using agility, Ginds soon begind to run at the Eevee, so fast that it momentarily disappeared at times, and got close, baring his teeth for a Bite attack. [/sub]

Tokala yelped as the Charmander bit his ear.. He quickly jumped away, hissing and spitting in anger. He growled, teeth bared and ear's back. His right ear was bleeding.
"Tokala!" Cass yelled, her eyes wide and her voice heavy with worry. Akina was in a similar state, her eyes staring at Tokala softly in worry. Cass glared at Jacob, her rage blinding her. "C'mon boy! Use Tackle attack!"
Tokala jumped forward, one ear bent backward in pain as he rushed forward, his owner's worry for him fueling his attack as he charged at the Charmander in a tackle. ------- Sorry if it's short. Or maybe it just looks really short to me cause my screen is really long? The internet died on all of the computers in my house except for my Dad's.
