When Cass entered the Center it was quite obvious that something was wrong. Nurse Joy was pacing frantically back and forth, bruises and scrapes visible on her. She had a particularily nasty bump on her head, and her skirt was torn.
When she notced Cass she broke down crying. "Cass- they...... they got Drake! I was just finished healing his burn, and had turned to get his Pokemon from the machine, when they burst into the center! I tried to get to the Phone to call Jenny, but one of them grabbed me and threw m on the floor. Their Pokemon knocked Chansey out with one hit. They grabbed Jake and pushed me back down when I tried to stop them, and I hit my head on the counter. I was disoriented, but I think I saw an Alakazam use Teleport. When I was able to get up- they were all gone!!!!!!" she cried. She fell weakly into a chair, still crying.
"Cass, I am SO sorry," she said seeming to somewhat get a hold of herself. "Officer Jenny is on the case right now, but they're probabally really far away now," she added. [/sub]

As Cass entered the Center, a wide grin was on her face, but it was wiped off in an instant when she noticed Nurse Joy. She quickly made her way to the Nurse's side, her eyes wide in concern and confusion. "What's wro-"
Cass froze as she listened to Nurse Joy, her face paling as she stared. She opened her mouth several times as she tried to say something, but she couldn't force it out. Drake couldn't be gone! He was supposed to be waiting here for her!
"'N-no." She mumbled, tears beginning to fall. "He's su-supposed to be here. He said he'd be fine!" Cass' fists clenched and a hiccup escaped her as she tried to get a hold of herself.
Cass bit her lip, trying to stop the tears that were falling from her eyes. "He told me not to worry, that he'd be fine." She whispered, hugging herself. She stared at her feet for a moment before she looked to Nurse Joy. "Isn't there any thing we can do? Anyway we can follow them?"

Nurse Joy fought back the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes and managed to shake her head. "Th-they teleported... who knows where they went... and their Pokemon were too strong. Even if we were to find them... what could we do?" she asked, choking on her tears.
Something white peeked from a crack in the back of the red seat that Drake had been sitting on. Nurse Joy, sitting near that sea, didn't even notice it. [/sub]

Cass collapsed into a chair, the one beside the chair that Drake had been sitting in. Her eyes were glued to her lap, tears still falling as she clenched the arms of the chair.
'I'll find you, Drake.' Cass thought to herself, taking a deep breathe as she tried to calm herself. 'I swear it.' Her gaze fell to the chair that Drake had been sitting in, and she pictured him there. But she soon banished the image. Imagining wouldn't help her right now.
She was about to stand, and ask Nurse Joy where Officer Jenny might be, when her eyes fell upon something white. She frowned in confusion and picked it up.

The white object turned out to be a piece of paper. A note. It was very hastily written.
Cass, I have a feeling that they-the Grim-are going to be looking for me. I don't want you to get hurt. I hope to be gone by the time that you get back from your battle. I'll get my Pokemon and leave after Nurse Joy finishes healing me. Don't worry about me. As long as you are okay, I will be fine, no matter what happens.
Cass, I want you to know that I like you. I REALLY like you, a lot. I hope that, after this whole mess is over, that we'll see each other again. Take care, and re-------------
The note read. It cut off at the end with a wild pencil mark scribbled across the page. That must have been around the time that the Grim entered the center.
"Oh, y-yeah. I forgot that he was writing that when I was nearly done healing him," Nurse Joy stated, stuttering the whole time. [/sub]

Cass quickly scanned the note. Maybe it would give her a clue as to where Drake was! Cass; fists clenched as she read, tears threatening to fall.
'He was going to leave me behind?!' Cass thought, brow furrowing. Didn't he like her at all? She had paused in her reading, but quickly read the last of it, smiling a bit, her cheeks reddening a small amount.
But as he eyes fell upon the jagged line, her heart seemed to freeze, and she gulped, taking a deep breathe. She needed to get out of there. She needed to start looking for him!
She silently tucked the note away in her bag, and took out her Pokeballs. "Could I get my Pokemon healed again, Nurse Joy?" Cass asked, her voice void of emotion as she resisted the urge to break down.

Nurse Joy nodded, her eyes rimmed with tears. She took Cass's pokeballs and went over to the machine. She cried aloud again when she removed Drake's pokeballs from where they were still sitting on the machine and put them on the counter.
She placed Cass's pokeballs in the slots after she had regained controll once more. Then she looked up at Cass, as if just coming to a realization. "You-your not planning on going after them are you!? You don't even know where they went! And your Pokemon are not nearly at a high enough level to have a chance against them!" she cried out, almost angrily. She looked at Cass like a mother would, only angry because of worry.
"I don't thin Drake would have wanted you to get yourself killed!" she pointedly reminded Cass. Her eyes softened a bit as she remembered the kiss. "Look, I'm sure that he will be okay. I don't think that they are going to kill him. Your best bet would be to go ahead and train up. Prepare for the time when you can kick all of those Grims' butts! Then you can save Drake. What good would it do for them to have both of you? Then who would be able to save you two?" Nurse Joy asked calmly, a small comforting smile formin on her lips.
The machine dinged. Nurse Joy retrieved Cass's Pokemon and went back and handed them to the trainer. Then, almost as an afterthought, she picked up Drake's two pokeballs. "Why don't you take his Pokemon with you? That way if you do find and free him you will be able to give them back to him. You could just keep them in your pack. They aren't your Pokemon, so they won't count as part of your party," Nurse Joy said handing the balls out to Cass. [/sub]

Cass winced at Nurse Joy's tone. She reminded her of her mother, when she would scold her for getting hurt while playing in the forest. But she did bring up good points. Drake wouldn't be happy if he found out she went after him. 'Well, he probably wouldn't be happy even if my Pokemon were five times stronger than the Grims' Pokemon.' Cass mused.
"I... I won't go after them." Cass sighed, biting her lip. "Not yet anyways." Cass pictured Drake's smiling face in her head. 'I'll find you, Drake.'
Cass picked her pokeballs up, and put them away. But as an after thought, she picked Tokala and Aya's pokeballs back out of her bag. She accepted Drake's Pokemon, carefully putting them away.
"Thanks for everything, Nurse Joy." Cass smiled. "I'll be careful. I've got my Pokemon to protect me." She then proceeded to release the two Pokemon she had chosen, Aya and Tokala.
Tokala looked around, and, seeing Cass' upset face, quickly jump into her arms, sitting comfortably on her shoulder. <What's wrong, Cass?> Tokala questioned gently.
Aya stared at Cass questioningly, but didn't push it, Instead, she butted her head against her leg. <Let's go! I want to go outside!>
Cass smiled, reassuring Tokala it was nothing. "Thanks again, Nurse Joy." Cass said as she exited the center.

The bright and sunny day did nothing to diminish the unmkistakable air of sadness. The streets were now quiet with not a soul in sight.
A little girl looked out of a doorway somewhere nearby, but was quickly ushered inside by an older woman. It seemed that Officer Jenny had set up an alarm within the city. It was a good walk to the opposite end of the city. Maybe Cas would be able to get in some more training before leaving. [/sub]

Cass walked along the streets silently, staring blankly ahead as she petted Tokala. Aya trotted along side them, and she seemed to have sensed how upset Cass was, as she stayed silent.
Cass was lost in her thoughts, many emotions running through her. Anger, because the Grim had kidnapped Drake. Sadness because she hadn't been able to stop them, as well as the fact that Drake had been planning on leaving. Disappointment because there had been no clues for her to follow, just a large mixing pot that she was struggling to sort out.
Tokala stared at Cass silently, sighing softly. He hoped she would snap out of this funk she was in soon.

The sunlight may have been bright, but its warm and light-giving rays did not quite reach the alleys between some of the buildings. Down one such alley came a yelp.
In the dark, a form scuttling back could be seen. [/sub]

Cass didn't seem to notice, and continued to walk. But both Aya and Tokala noticed. Tokala growled and jumped off of Cass shoulder, causing her to stop to see what was the matter.
"What's wrong, Tokala, Aya?" Cass questioned, her concern obvious. She didn't want to lose anyone else.
<There's somthin over there, Cass> He growled, slowly making his way toward the figure.
Aya followed, glaring as she yelled, <Come out!>

A long moment passed by, but a very nervous Electrike crawled out of the shadows. He whipered and lowered himself to the ground submissively.
<Please don't hurt me!> the Electrike whimpered shivering. He looked Cass in the eyes, fear visible in them. He looked as if he had been beat up pretty badly. [/sub]

Cass' eyes widened as she immediately called her Pokemon off. "Tokala, Aya, stop! It's okay." Her attention returned to the injured Electrike. "Are you okay? What happened?"
Aya looked on and snorted, looking around a bit as Cass tried to get closer to the Electrike. But she kept an eye on Cass, just in case.
Tokala was watching the Electrike, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. He made sure to stay close to Cass, in case it was a trick.
"Come here," Cass coaxed. "We need to get you over to the Pokemon Center. I'm sure Nurse Joy won't mind another visitor." Cass tried to keep the happy smile on her face, while inside she felt rather depressed.

The Electrike startd to take a step back from Cass, but seemed to change his mind. He walked, or rather, crawled over to Cass. He stayed on his belly and looked nervously from Cass to Tokala and Aya.
When he was in front of Cass, so close that he was nearly touching her foot, his ears flattened down on his head and he closed his eyes. Electrike looked as if he eypected to recieve a blow of some sort. [/sub]
