Cass sighed in relief as they entered the city, her eyes alight with happiness. They were in Bolt City. The place where she would attempt to earn her first gym badge. Of course, there was no doubt about it. She would succeed. She couldn't fail. Of course, before they headed over to the gym, they had to find the Pokemon Center. She had to heal her Pokemon, Drake's to, make sure Drake got his injuries treated, and get her own treated as well. Not that they could do much. All she had were bruises, maybe a couple scratched.
"Well, guess we'd better find the Pokemon Center." Cass said, scanning the City in search of the red and white building. "It shouldn't be too hard to find."

OoC: I forgot about the Pokemon Center thread...
-----
In fact, it wasnt. The Pokemon Center was the only building that wasn't completely high-tech and mechanical, other than the Poke'Mart. And it was the only red and whit building in town, and relatively close to the entrance of the city.
Many people were outside, most just sitting around with an Electric Pokemon, but a few others battling it out in an electrified contest of power.
Drake looked at Cass, remembering that he hadn't said anything to her last statement. "Well, my injuries may be more serious, but that means that they will also take longer to heal. I can't ask you to wait for that long to do you Gym Battle," he said honestly. [/sub]

Cass silently studied the many battles going on around them. You could feel the electricity in the air as attacks clashed in a battle of strength and will. It gave her a rush, an awesome, powerful feeling that she got when ever she was in a battle with her Pokemon. She half listened to Drake's words, turning to him as he finished.
"You sure?" She asked, a small smile on her face. She actually wanted Drake to come with her, but she knew it might be a little while. She began to walk toward the Pokemon Center, a little sad.
"Well, we still have to get our Pokemon healed. My gym battle can wait you know, I doubt the gym is going anywhere." She shot him a grin. "At the very least, I'm not going until I'm sure you're going to be okay."

Drake was paying more attention to Cass than his surroundings, studying her face as it turned sad. "I'm sure. And when you finish, I'll be waiting at the Center to hear all about how you beat the leader! Then, maybe, if you'd like, we could travel together to other towns?" he asked smiling, hoping that he had read her emotions correctly.
"Okay, deal. After you are sure that I'll be oaky, you go to the gym," Drake added nodding. He returned the grin tenfold.
They reached the center, and Drake stepped up to the automatic doors. They opened, and he turned to Cass, giving her a mock bow. "ladies first," he teased, laughing good-naturedly. [/sub]

Cass was instantly cheered up, but she desperately tried to hide how happy she was. "Sure, that'd be cool." She said grinning at him as they neared the door. While inwardly she was dancing around, her mood having sky rocketed.
She let giggled a bit at Drake as he bowed, and she decided she would play along. What harm could it do? Besides, it would be fun.
"Oh," Her hand flew to her chest in mock surprise. "What a gentleman!" She grinned and pretended to swoon, batting her eyelashes at Drake.

Drake rushed over to Cass, continuing their little game. "Why, my dear lady, be careful," he said placing his hands gently on her shoulders, pretending to hold her up from her fake swoon.
As soon as Drake touched Cass warmth flooded into his fingers, and he had a surge of emotions at that second which nearly caused him to swoon for real. He pulled his hands back quickly, his face turning beat red. He stepped back uncertainly.
"Well, um, we should probabably get inside," he said after clearing his throat. The blush didn't receed, even though Drake tried feverently to make it vanish.
Inside the Center, Nurse Joy just walked out of a back room. She noticed Cass and Drake right away. "Hello! Is there anything that I could do for you?" she called to the pair. Drake held out his hand, seriously motioning for Cass to enter first. He hoped that she didn't take his actions the wrong way-then again, he hoped that she didn't take it the right way. He really, really, liked Cass. He just wasn't sure if she felt the same way, or even if he wanted to let her know. [/sub]

As Drake's hands rested on her shoulders, a sort of jolt ran through her, like she had just been shocked. She instantly blushed, her face a dark red. 'I-It's just the electricity in the air!' Cass thought, attempting to justify the rush of emotions that had followed the jolt. 'Y-y-yeah. It's only the Pokemon...'
Cass noticed Drake back away, and she looked away, attempting to hide her red face. Discreetly as possible, she looked over at him, and was about to ask if something was wrong when Nurse Joy came over. Cass entered the Pokemon Center, walking toward the Nurse.
"Oh, uh. We need our Pokemon healed.." Cass said, her face still red. "And Drake here needs a burn on his back treated. I've just got a couple bruises." Cass mistakenly forgot to mention how they had gotten hurt. Hopefully Nurse Joy wouldn't freak out of something....

"Oh! You must be Cass and that Intern fellow! Professor Tarei called and told me that you would be coming," Nurse Joy replied. She eyed Drake's back and gasped. Too much longer in the sun and it would have become serious indeed!
"Quick, come in! Cass, my Pokemon can heal bruises and scratches fairly easily, but burns that are at the stage of your friend's will be more difficult," she said, ushering Drake in when he didn't immediately follow Cass. She hoped that he'd hurry, as she didn't want the burn to come into contact with any more UV rays from the sun.
Drake hurried in, finally able to make the blush go away, but still feeling worried and awkward. His tension increased when he heard Nurse Joy talking about how bad his burn had become. He hadn't even noticed.
"I will be able to heal him, but it will take much longer than you, Cass. A good few hours longer," Nurse Joy quickly added, not wanting Cass to worry too much.
"Okay, both of you please hand me your Pokeballs. Cass, could you stand here? You won't need to take off any clothing; the healing moves will be effective even with them on." she said, pointing to a spot in front of the main desk.
Drake handed his Pokemon to Nurse Joy, then walked over and sat in a seat off to the side. He leaded back, but quickly regretted it when his bare, burnt back came into contact with the cold wall of the Center. [/sub]

Cass bit her lip as Nurse Joy fretted, hoping Drake would be okay. Her blush had also faded, the strange feeling she had had being overrode by worry for Drake.
Her worry disappeared a bit as Nurse Joy explained that he would be okay, but only by just a small bit. She retrieved her Pokeballs, handing them to the Pokemon Nurse before she walked to the spot she had been directed to. It would be a great relief when those stupid bruises were gone.
Her thoughts flitted briefly to her upcoming Pokemon battle. It wouldn't be long before she was facing the gym leader, and then, when she beat him, she would have her first gym badge, and the first of many bridges will have been crossed.
She shook her head, shooting a worry filled glance at Drake. 'He comes before any gym battle.' She thought to herself. Thankfully there was no blush on her cheeks.

Nurse Joy placed all 8 of the balls into slots on a machine, and pressed a button. She walked over to Cass as the machine began to work, revitalizing the Pokemon within the balls.
"Chansey, could you come her please?" the nurse called. A Chansey walked out of the back room, the same one from which the Nurse appeared earlier. "Cold you please use Heal Bell on Cass? She's just bruised up," Nurse Joy asked when Chansey had gotten close.
Nodding, the Chansey launched into its healing move. A bell sounded, seeming to come from everywhere and yet nowhere, all at once. A blue light enveloped Cass and danced about her body like flames, but focussed mainly on her back.
The light and ringing stopped, and not a single bruise or scrape had been left on Cass. It had taken perhaps five minutes in all. A moment later the machine beeped, signaling that the Pokemon were all healed.
Nurse Joy walked over and grabbed Cass's six Pokeballs, then walked back over and handed them to their trainer. Drake stood up, expecting to get his Pokemon back too.
"Oh, I'll give you you're Pokemon after I finish healing you, okay?" Nurse Joy asked when she noticed that Drake had gotten up. "For now, go into that left room there and lay on your stomach on that bed in there," she instructed.
"Okay," Drake nodded. He turned to obey, but then stopped and looked at Cass. "I'll be fine, don't worry. You win that battle!" he said to her. [/sub]

Cass watched in awe as she was healed, her eyes sparkling. It felt so... Refreshing, being healed this way. And she definitely felt better. The five minutes seemed to last only a few moments, and before she knew it, the light was gone.
She was rather startled by the beep, but she relaxed once she realized what it was. She nodded her thanks as Nurse Joy returned her Pokeballs, and she placed them back in her bag. It would soon be time to go to the gym. 'Am I ready to fight a gym leader?' She thought to herself, her earlier confidence gone.
Drake's words of encouragement, however, restored her confidence. She smiled at Drake, and walked toward him, stopping so she was standing directly in front of him.
"Get better soon, alright? We've got lots of traveling to do, remember?" Cass gaze fell to her feet for a moment, and she seemed to be debating something.
'Well, might as well take the chance.' Cass thought to herself. 'No telling when I'll actually be this confident again..' With that thought Cass looked into Drake's eyes, just for a moment, and then she quickly leaned forward, kissing him on the cheek.
Her face instantly turned red, and she ran from the Pokemon Center like a bat out of hell. "See you soon, Drake!" She yelled over her shoulder, smiling at him before she left.
'I hope I won't regret this.'

Drake pulled his hand to his cheek surprised as Cass ran out the door. His cheeks lit up with color, and he realized just how much that happened to him when he was with Cass. Well, if that was any hint towards her feelings about him, he needn't have worried about his light touch on her shoulders. He smiled, still gently touching his cheek where he had just been kissed.
Nurse Joy was acing the other direction, and pretended not to notice the exchange. She had to change her initial giggle into a cough to hide it.
Cass had walked out the door before either of the two could say anything, but it didn't really matter. Drake couldn't have found the words to say anything anyway, and there wasn't really anything for Nurse Joy to say.
When Cass exitied the building there were only two battles still going on. A pair of people who had earlier been locked in an intense battle now sat beside the Water Fountain, laughing and congratulating each other. From their conversation it was impossible to discover who had won.
The gym's roof was visable in the distance. It was lit up with millions of lights, mostly white but a few other colors as well. It seemed as if it was made of wires, and it was nearly impossible to tell that it wasn't. [/sub]

Cass walked through Bolt City, silent as she searched for the gym. She was still red, but a small smile was on her face. She mulled over the events of just a few minutes ago, and she had decided that no matter what, she would never regret what she did. She'd made her move, and now she would wait to see what Drake did.
"Okay," Cass said aloud, studying her surroundings, "Now where is that gym?" Now that she was really looking, she quickly found it, and stood at the door. She studied the building for a moment, surprised at how it was decorated.
"Eh, whatever floats your boat..." She mumbled, opening the door and slipping inside.

The inside of the gym was even crazier than the outside. Gears turned all about Cass, making it appear as if she was inside of a clock. Occasionally a few of them would be covered with electrical currents.
One such electrical current that went from one gear to anoher shot out, almost hitting Cass. It sizzled in the air directly in front of her, but it did not end up touch any of her clothing or her body. It was REALLY close though.
A man jumped down from a gear high off the ground, landing in the middle of a battle feild that was a little ahead of Cass. He was wearing a long, flowing yellow coat, a black t-shirt, a wide-brimmed yellow hat, and black pants. His orange hair clashed with the yellow and black of his outfit, giving a bright and glaring appearance.
"I am so sorry! Are you alright? I really must get those things fixed," the man apologized to Cass. "I am Van, leader of the Boltanic Gym. Have you come to challenge me, young trainer?" [/sub]

Cass stared at the inside of the gym, eyeing everything cautiously. "This place is creepy." She mumbled as she walked forward.
Cass let out a squeak when the electricty alomost hit her. Her eyes were wide, and she shook. She almost forgot to breathe as she stood there, eyes wide and fillec with fright as she tried to calm herself. Her eyes were stuck on the spot where the elcetricity had been, so she hadn't been paying any attention to her surroundings.
So when Van jumped down, it scared Cass again. She fell over in fright, landing on her butt. She stared at Van, her breathe heavy as she, once again, tried to calm herself. Her stare turned to a glare as she stood. "I should so sue you for that." She grumbled under her breathe as she composed herself.
"Yes, I am here to challenge you. I'm Cass." She said, looking around for a moment. "So, are anymore things gonna jump out and try to kill me?"
