Cass watched as the Electrike crawled toward her, sighing sadly when she saw that it thought she was going hit it. She kneeled down and gently pet the electric type, smiling softly.
"It'll be okay." She said, still petting the Electrike. "Can I pick you up? We should let Nurse Joy check you out."
Tokala was still suspicious, and was crouched slightly, ready to attack at a moments notice.
Aya had moved to stand behind Cass, trying to look as if she wasn't paying attention, when in reality she was watching very closely.

The Electrike cringed at Cass's touch, but soon looked up at her curiously when all she did was pet him. <Y-yes...> he replied at length to her question. She seemed nice, but...
Electrike didn't miss Tokala's movements, and he briefly noticed that both of the other Pokemon were watching his movements. This made him more than a little nervous. But he got off of his belly, and into a position were Cass could easily pick him up. He was shivering all over out of fear, but at least he was beginning to trust Cass a little.
Electrike was ready to bolt if Cass did anything that would hint at an intent to hurt him. [/sub]

Cass smiled and gently picked Electrike up, holding him in her arms as she pet him. "It's okay, you're gonna be fine." Cass looked to her Pokemon. She knew that they were watching her, trying to protect her.
"It's okay guys." She told them, nodding to show she was alright. "Were going to go to the Pokemon Center, Electrike." Cass whispered soothingly. "She can make it so you won't hurt anymore."
Cass began walking toward the Pokemon Center, Aya and Tokala following closely behind her.

Cass's soothing voice and calm touch was finally getting to the Electrike. His shivering nearly stopped and he breathed a small sigh of relief.
The Pokemon Center came into view again. Sitting outside of the center was a motor bike. It must have been Officer Jenny's. [/sub]

Cass paused outside the Pokemon Center, staring at Officer Jenny's motor bike. 'Why is- Oh yeah.' Cass thought to herself, remembering. The Electrike had temporarily made her forget. Sadness shone in her eyes, but she quickly shook her head. Electrike needed her right now, and wasn't about to let him down.
Cass entered the Center, a small smile on her face. "Hey Nurse Joy."

Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny were both deep in conversation when Cass walked in. Nurse Joy looked as if she was close to tears again, but Officer Jenny just looked professionally sad.
They stopped talking and both looked to Cass questioningly. "Cass? What's wrong?" Nurse Joy asked concerned.
Officer Jenny eyed the injured Electrike in Cass's arms, who was just sitting there silently. "Hello," she stated, offering a small smile. [/sub]

Cass eyed Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny suspiciously for a moment. Was it something about Drake's kidnapping? But she brushed it off. If somethig was wrong they would tell her. 'Right?' Cass asked herself.
Tokala headbutted her leg, nodding first to the Electrike then to Nurse Joy. Aya was fidgeting, looking outside, but she looked as if she was trying to keep calm.
Cass shook her head. She needed to concentrate on Electrike right now. "I found this Electrike outside in an alley. He's injured. I'm not sure what happened, but I figured I should bring him here."

Nurse Joy looked at the Electrike, and right away knew that it had not gotten injured in a battle or anything like that. She rushed over and gently took the Elecrike from Cass. The Pokemon whimpered in protest, but stopped when Nurse Joy rubbed its ears.
"He has been beaten. His injuries did not come from any accident. Someone beat him, frequently. First Drake, and now this!" she said, her voice filled with venom. She softened it, however, when the Electrike whimpered again. "I'll be right back. I'll just go and get him healed," she added waling into a back room.
Cass was left alone with Officer Jenny. "So you're Cass? I am sorry, but we didn't find anything. We searched everywhere, but to no avail. I'm afraid that they got away. But you can be sure that we will notify you if anything happens," Officer Jenny said.
Jenny heaved a sigh. "I have to go. I'm going to try to catch that creep that abused that Electrike. Do you have a phone of some sort?" she asked. [/sub]

Cass' eyes widened. Electrike had been beaten? She glared at the floor, eyes filled with rage as she tried to calm herself. She eventually succeeded, telling herself that whoever had done it would be caught and thrown in jail.
Tokala and Aya were also angry. How dare someone beat a Pokemon! They each let out furious growls, glaring at random objects around the room.
Cass sighed, sadness replacing her earlier anger. She hoped Drake was alright. "They'd better hope you find 'em first." Cass growled darkly, her eyes narrowing as she thought of the criminal group, the Grim. "I'm training my Pokemon, and then I'm gonna go find him."
Cass took a deep breathe, feeling the anger leave her. "Sorry 'bout that. Yeah, I have a phone." She smiled and took off her bag, rummaging through it until she finally found her cell phone. She pulled it out, looking back to Officer Jenny.

Officer Jenny cracked a smile at Cass's growl, agreeing with her. "Yeah, but they deserve to have you find them," she laughed.
When Cass brought out her cell phone, Officr Jenny held out her hand. "May I?" she asked, and without waiting for a response, gently took Cass's phone. She pressed a few buttons then handed it back. "I see that you already ave the Professor's number stored. I added mine and Nurse Joy's," she said.
Officer Jenny tipped her hat to Cass in a sort of professional bow then rushed out of the center. The sound of her motorbike being started up filled the center, and the roar of its engine soon died away as the Officer rode off to do her work. [/sub]

Cass put her phone back, nodding to Officer Jenny as she left. She listened to the sounds of her Motor bike for a moment before she looked around, wondering what she should do.
"Tokala, Aya, why don't you go back to your Pokeballs for a little while. I don't know how long we'll be here, and I don't want you guys wandering off." Cass took their pokeballs out, and recalled them.
The two Pokemon just nodded, allowing the red light to usck them up.
Cass put the pokeballs away, looking toward the room Nurse Joy had disappeared into.

As it turned out, Cass didn't have to wait long. Soon after she had recalled her Pokemon Nurse Joy returned to the Center lobby. She was carrying the Electrike, who looked much better. He was no longer covered in bruises. Though he was still shivering in fear, he had managed to put a smile on his face.
"Where's Officer Jenny?" Nurse Joy asked looking around. "Oh, she must have left already. Always in a hurry, but I suppose that's a good quality in a Police Officer. Not many crooks managed to get away from that one!" she added with a nod. Nurse Joy too looked much better. Her eyes were no longer red and swollen from crying, but seemed to twinkle in happiness again.
She gently lowered the Electrike to the floor, where he jumped out of her arms and walked over to Cass, sitting submissively by her feet, ready for whatever she willed. He was afraid, yeas, but looked at Cass with great trust in his eyes. [/sub]

Cass nodded at Nurse Joy's question, as well as her comments. She observed the now cheerful nurse for a moment, and a smile made it's way to her face.
Cass glanced at Electrike as he stood at her feet, and she kneeled, looking the electric pokemon in the eye. She was surprised at the amount of trust they held, and softly petted him. "So, you okay now?"
Cass unconsciously clenched her fist. Whoever it was that had hurt this Electrike, they were going to pay. "The person who hurt you is gonna regret it.." She mumbled.

The Electrike had indeed grown to trust Cass, almost completely. This was shown even more in that he didn't flinch when she clenched her fist. He nodded to Cass's first quesion. <Yes, and thank you,> he said simply.
Then, he shook his head at Cass's next statement. <I suppose he deserves it, but I.... don't believe in revenge... Besides, I don't know where he went. He threw me out onto the Street before he moved, and he never said where he was going.> the Electric Pokemon replied awkwardly. He looked at the ground, lowering hid head shamefully. He felt like he had failed the person who helped him. [/sub]

Cass smiled gently, petting the Electrike comfortingly. "It's okay. Besides, it's not your fault! I'm sure Officer Jenny will get him!" Cass gave the electric type another smile before something hit her. How had she forgotten before?
"Nurse Joy," Cass looked to the older woman. "What will happen to Electrike now?" Cass glanced at the Electrike, her concern evident. She hoped he would be okay. He needed a good owner after what had happened to him. ---- OoC - Short again.. -_-
